HammR25
They want people to pay $25 a year to get early access to their sports games and a 20% discount on DLC for those games. The linked article points out you'd have to buy $125 in DLC a year just to break even on your $25. That would be like buying 8.3333333 map packs a year at $15. What the heck kind of DLC do these sports games even have? I guess the Tiger Woods game has new courses that ship with the game but you've gotta pay to use. Otherwise I don't know why anyone would want DLC for a sports game. http://www.1up.com/news/ea-sports-season-ticket-subscription-discounts-dlc-lets-you-play-early
iswitt
This is exactly why EA sucks. Things like this. No way in hell would I pay that much money for a pass for EARLY access!! Can't people wait. And sports games DLC sucks, as does DLC in general. It's all a sham. EA will not see a penny from me.
AtariLeaf
Wow, $25 to play a whole 3 days early? Where do I sign up? Oh I forgot about the "recognition of my membership." What does that mean? They chant my name while secretly calling me "dumbass" for falling for this "promotion"? pce_collector
The price to play is going up, just like food, water, gas and everything else. Expect the other sheep of the industry to start similar programs. How soon do you think we'll get the "Halo Frontier Program" or "PlayStation Plus Plus?" bennybingo
I'm glad I don't play sports games...too bad that this is likely an indicator of things to come. I have heard so many stories and articles lately talking about DLC nonsense...it makes my tummy hurt.
