Scott Stilphen
Computer Creations advertised this in some of the classic gaming mags. Any ideas what this was (or supposed to be)?
oesii
I've never heard of it but it's mentioned in Issue 12 of Analog magazine (for Atari 8bits): http://home.earthlink.net/~dnoguero/analog...12/newatari.htm just says it's self centering with 2 buttons, could it be the improved 5200 joystick that's rumored in the DP guide? Oh, and if you find a place I can order it from let me know
Scott Stilphen
Thanks. Sounds like the Pro-Line joysticks, but I don't think it has the same CX number. Is there a controller section on this site?
Tempest
Could it be the Space Age joystick? Tempest
Curt Vendel
Could it be the Space Age joystick? Tempest Space Age had 1 firebutton. The CX60 was renamed the CX24 Supercontroller and is listed on the original Late Spring 1984 box and manual of the new 2600 console which would be canceled and released again in 1986 as the 2600jr, for a picture of the original 1984 2600jr, its box and joystick: http://www.atarimuseum.com/videogames/atari2600jr.html Curt
oesii
cool info, Curt, that makes more sense. I think it was funny that after the 5200 debacle, they had to mention it was 'self-centering'. If they ever got off their butts and made the 5200 stick self-centering it would have a more attractive system to develop for.

Actually Atari was working on a self centering joystick and a digital joystick for the 5200 too: http://www.atarimuseum.com/5200joy.html Found this is a bag of various proto controllers that came out of Atari in 96' Curt
oesii
yeah I had read about that somewhere (probably your site) and it was mentioned in the latest DP guide as well. The pictures on that page are not showing up though? They are being linked back to www.atari-history.com and not atarimuseum.
Curt Vendel
Hmmmm.. "We are experiencing Technical Difficulties, Please Standby" I'll check out why that's happening later on today and get it fixed. Curt
