roadrunner
I couldn't find the rom for Metal Slug 5 I have it but I couldn't find a link. The thing is pretty big though. 77MB B Yeah, Metal Slug 4 was like 84 or 87MB What site has Metal Slug 5? cool rom, emuasylum, rom world, emuparadise??? Does it need a parent ROM?? I use Romnation mostly but I don't see it there. I've had it for a while and don't remember where I got it. To get back on track, are you going to suggest any Data East games RR? B Yeah, i use romnation.net alot too. great site! I found games for 2004 and 2005 2004 The King Of Fighters Special Edition 2004 2005 The King Of Fighters 10th Anniversary Extra Plus parent rom - The King Of Fighters 2002 Maybe i just suck at these 2 games, but i didn't see a final score. I guess i didn't score high enough. lol

Barra
Tenkomori Shooting is an alright game in the 1998 category, would have to specify whether we go easy, medium or hard route though I'd vote Guwange for 1999, although Gigawing is also a good choice For 2000 - Maybe the King of Fighters 2000? Havent played any of the games listed as released in 2000 so this would be a stab in the dark

bigbee99
Maybe when this Tourny get underway, we could get a different thread for each game? I don't know, maybe it would make the score keeping easier. I could be wrong. B

Also, for me when calculating various statistics I do for the HSC.

VectorGamer
Archived tournament selection info: For 1996-2000 titles: Nominate a list of 5 titles: one from each year beginning 1996 and ending 2000. List these titles in order of preference, highest to lowest. This will allow me to flesh out the tournament (if need be) in a timely manner by going through each player's nominee list in turn and selecting the highest priority title from that respective player's list. Example (and please try to follow this format when listing nominees): 1982: Pepper II 1980: Star Castle 1979: Astro Fighter 1981: Lady Bug 1976: Sea Wolf 1983: Pole Position II 1984: 1942 1977: Canyon Bomber 1978: Space Invaders 1985: Dig Dug II In this example, if the tournament field did not fulfill the ten game requirement, my nomination of Pepper II would be selected for my turn in the selection process. For Data East titles: Nominate 5 games by Data East. You can find these games in MAME by sorting on manufacturer or searching on KLOV.com Games will be added to the tournament based on the total number of nominations beginning highest to lowest. Nomination tiebreakers: If a game has not been played previously in the history of the AtariAge Arcade/MAME HSC, that game will be chosen. If there are multiple titles that have been played previously in the history of the AtariAge Arcade/MAME HSC, then the most recently played title will be discarded. If ten games have not been selected by 3AM EDT on Sunday, August 28, games will be selected from their list of nominations in the following order: HSC Season 3 Champion (patbb) HSC Season 4 Standings as of one week from tournament start date from highest to lowest by only those that have posted nominations In case of a "wrap around," the selections will return back to the top of the current season standings Please test all games before nominating them to make sure there are no issues with the game (e.g. scoring issues). bigbee99
Ok. I was gathering ROMs and checking settings for this tourney so I can just click and go for the next few weeks. I ran into a few problems and have a few questions. 1.) Does Bump n Jump have a parent rom? I have bnj.zip. It has 3 different bnj.bin files in it but I cannot get it to load. Bump n Jump has a parent rom, Burnin' Rubber. 2.) I am still using wolfMAME.106. How do I change the dip settings for the Neo Geo games? "Tab" just brings up the Neo Geo parent rom settings. If the 2 Metal Slug games are default then cool. Would a newer wolfMAME avoid this problem? I have .138 and .140 as well. Everything else checked out well for me though. Cynicaster
Lot's of shoot 'em up action this tourney. I quickly tried a few of these games and those vertical shooters are fantastic. If it weren't for the HSC, I'd be missing out on so many good games.
bigbee99
Here's a few scores to chase Astro Fighter 13,490 Karate Champ 15,800 Lock n Chase 11,180 Mad Alien 12,170 Vasara 203,100 Personal Best for me on Astro Fighter. Last time I played this in a comp I had 10k. Karate Champ, well, I know I can do better than that. Usually I get to the 8th guy. I'm expecting 50k+ on that one. patbb
Alright, we're game on with this tournament... I don't know how the tournament standings updates will go yet with the new point system. I'll figure it out... It will be great to have something like that: TwinGalaxies MAME Decathlon 2011 It's probably a lot of work. I'm not a spreadsheet expert but that look complicated to manage, unless all the work is done manually. If it's the 2nd then it will take forever to fill out all the cells. If you would like me to help you with something let me know. I'm a C++ programmer with a few knowledge of database structure. I was thinking of a program where you just have to enter the players name and the game names in two separate table. Then make a table, similar to the Karate Champ Move list!!, to enter each player score. Then with the magic of a program create listing for each games along with the percent next to each. Maybe have a color coding to know if the player completed all the games (Similar to the TG scoreboard.) And a full scoreboard. I can probably create spreadsheet or html for the output files. VectorGamer
I can probably create spreadsheet or html for the output files. I've been doing the Retroboard tournaments in Excel. I just have to figure out how I want to lay out the workbook to streamline it. I'm thinking LOOKUP functions would work.
Cynicaster
I was wondering if anybody could clear something up for me on Lock N Chase. Is there any way to control where the little red door pops up when you hit the button? Half the time I use it, it puts a door right in front of me and I trap myself and die. bigbee99
Still don't have a score for DoDon or Bump, but the are coming. Gigawing - 403,337,015,890 Metal Slug 1 - 203080 Metal Slug 2 - 841230 I've never broke a trillion on Giga before, but it's not from lack of trying. I think my best was a little over 500Bil. As for the 2 Slug games, the scoring opportunities on 2 are way better! 10k for prisoners at the end of the level instead of 1k. And 100k for finishing a level with a vehicle instead of 10k. I never played it much before but I like it Me and the kids would play Metal Slug 1 on the Wii a lot but 203k is better than the score I sent TGI some time back of 190k. The mini-boss guy in level 3 always gives me a hard time. I was wondering if anybody could clear something up for me on Lock N Chase. Is there any way to control where the little red door pops up when you hit the button? Half the time I use it, it puts a door right in front of me and I trap myself and die. I have no idea how Lock n Chase works. Maybe someone else can chime in. I voted for it, but I BLOW at it.
