TPR
I've really been staying away from eBay lately entirely. Too many INSANE prices going on at the moment, and I'm sort of upset with them for other reasons as well. It's been nice just buying stuff from other collectors directly, anyway! Ikrananka
Too many INSANE prices going on at the moment... And here are a couple of truly INSANE prices from sales in the UK: Frogger 2 CIB sold for £460 (around US$600) - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 222223238271 and even worse: Spy Hunter CIB sold for £750 (around US$990) - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 222223243532 Looks like the same few bidders that are also bidding up the N. American auctions. Atari_Bill
What the hell is going on? Are these guys a couple of new collectors doing the speed collecting thing with a virtual unlimited source of money? I can understand an increase over time but for prices to triple + suddenly on boxed items is unreal. Very frustrating. TPR
I sometimes wish that eBay had a "comments" section on auctions so you can let people know that instead of buying an item for nearly $200: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEHKAN-BOMB-JACK-COLECOVISION-GAME-2015-COLLECTORVISION-GAME-BOXED-COMPLETE-/201653752418 You can go to the source and get it for fifty bucks: http://collectorvision.com/shop/colecovision/bombjack-coleco-vision/ 2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/187319-colecovision-auction-watch/page/176/#findComment-3579626 Share on other sites

But I gotta say with people paying these crazy prices I'm tempted to dump some of my dups for some quick, crazy cash... TPR
I don't think the ordering system is officially up and running, last time I reached out to JF it was still under construction. I actually went in and did some work on this tonight. Right now I have the default sorting similar to the old site which lists "coming soon" first, what's "in stock" second, and then "out of stock" (older titles) last: http://collectorvision.com/product-category/colecovision/ From what I understand though, some of those out of stock games may need their inventory updating so stay tuned and there may be some more games shifted around. You're right though, it is still under construction! Tkat5200
ahhhh ok then that makes more sense. a "under construction" banner somewhere would have stifled my complaint as i would have known that and just dealt with it I ordered the last two copies of Moon Patrol they had tonight. at least that's what the site said. TPR
Is it just me or has eBay changed the way search works on desktop computers? This has been my normal eBay search for MONTHS now: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=colecovision&_sop=10 And it used to show me only ColecoVision items. Now it looks like it's showing me a bunch of Atari 2600 items and other stuff as well. Seems to be that if someone has the word "ColecoVision" in their product description it now brings those items up. So for example this item here is showing up for me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-2600-SUPER-BREAKOUT-BY-ATARI-IN-GOOD-SHAPE-/302053810588because he has the following in his description: ABOUT TO UNLEASH A TON OF VINTAGE STUFF ATARI NINTENDO SEGA COLECOVISION INTELLIVISION SYSTEMS / CONTROLLERS / MANUALS US SHIPMENTS 2.99 FOR THE FIRST GAME EACH ADDITIONAL LOOSE GAME CARTRIDGE IS 1.00 INTERNATIONAL IS 3.99 EACH ADDITIONAL 1.00 I don't think this would have ever shown up for me before a couple of days ago. Anyone else notice this? Again it seems to be ONLY on the desktop version. The app still brings up ColecoVision items only (probably based on searching auction titles, not descriptions) Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/187319-colecovision-auction-watch/page/176/#findComment-3580302 Share on other sites

It pisses me off even more when the guy with comic books puts his 50 comic books up and it finds those. I have always had it set to check description for colecovision so maybe they changed your search to search description and you used to have it only checking title. Reason I always looked at description as well was because sometimes people don't put colecovision in title. Check the parameters and see if they checked description or all off and I guess change it back to title if that is what you want. Like half of the listings are now non-ColecoVision. Here's my link that I normally use: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=colecovision&_sop=10 are you seeing a bunch of SegaCD games and lots of other stuff show up on that first page as well? I don't think I've changed anything recently in my advanced search, but something seems to have changed as I never used to get this many non-ColecoVision items listed. TPR
Looks like I'm not alone. I'm seeing loads of people having the same issue I am: http://community.ebay.com/t5/Tools-Apps/Has-the-Search-function-changed/qaq-p/25945419 http://community.ebay.com/t5/Tools-Apps/Search-Engine-Changes/td-p/25942085 https://community.ebay.com/t5/Member-To-Member-Support/Search-options-changed-AGAIN/qaq-p/25941778 Looks like the default is now set to search "Title and Description" with no way to turn it off to only search the title. So now (at least on the desktop version) if you do a search for "ColecoVision" any idiot that has that word in the description his non-CV related auctions like "check out my other auctions for ColecoVision, Intellivision, Atari, etc...." it shows up. I really hope this gets fixed! Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/187319-colecovision-auction-watch/page/176/#findComment-3581976 Share on other sites

Bartsfam
I'm Chrome running Vista, with Colecovision in the search, and I only get about 2,000 results. Pure Colecovision and nothing else.... In the upper right of the screen I have a box to check if I want to include it in the description.
