2012 Midwest Gaming Classic March 24-25

Recommended Posts

If anyone wants a really special experience, gaming pioneer Scott Adams is going to do an exclusive dinner chat with a lucky 12 gamers on Saturday after the show closes at 8pm. If you want to join Scott for this extremely personal experience, visit www.midwestgamingclassic.com and click on the tickets link now. We're already nearly halfway sold out!

Wow this is tempting. I got to meet him at one of the past MGC shows, he's a really nice guy and fun to talk to.

It's only $25 and you get dinner also, go for it man!! I would but I don't know who he is (not really a retro computer guy myself)

It's more of a 'I need to see what my plans are for that night' kind of a thing. It's a great value for what you're getting, no denying that.

Defently worth it if you can do it!

Done. I've been looking for a final push to convince me to go. I spent a bunch of time with Scott Adams adventures for the Vic 20. I'm really looking forward to this.

Oh, nice! Worked with Scott and his publisher to get his blessing to do the TI Scott Adams Adventure CD compilation way back in the late 90's. I was only allowed to sell 50 as he was working on a new Return To Pirates Isle game for Win95 - but still have my copy and a prototype/wip PC diskette I'm saving as part of my "retirement" benefits. :rolling:

It would be interesting to see who all here from the Usenet days, still have their CD's...

I have that same CD! Now I just need to relocate it :)

Hey guys the Jagfest section is shaping up to be the best yet we are looking at 7 to 8 systems some may have doom link and we may try some

battlesphere link as well. We should also have just about every Jaguar release that there is avalibile to play. We also want to add that we will

be playing the AA high score contest as well. I hope to see some of you there. ;-)

I got laid off Monday, but I am planning on going anyways. Figure I can just charge the hotel room & deal with it later if money becomes too tight(don't get re-employed in the meantime).

If me and a few of my wasted friends can crash on the floor of your room we could save you some money ;)

Duly noted. There's some factors involved.

Gosh!@ (watching Napoleon Dynamite right now)

I just wanted to drop everyone a quick note -- today is the FINAL day to pre-order your 2012 Midwest Gaming Classic two-day tickets! Tickets will still be available at the door, but if you know you're planning on coming, you'll save some money and help us make the show even better this year by ordering now.

Also, if you haven't already reserved your hotel room, we are sold out of certain room types, and have very limited numbers left. Please make sure that if you want to stay on site, reserve your hotel room today!

Finally, as of last night, we are now confirmed to have more than 200+ arcade video and pinball machines at the show. When you combine that with Tom Taylor's Tour, which you can go on Friday afternoon and evening for a small donation when you purchase your tickets (very few spots left here too!), it means that the Midwest Gaming Classic will have more than 500 playable machines this year! That's incredible!

Hope to see you at the show!!

Okay, we ended up getting a room. There are 3 of us which means one half of a double bed will be available if anyone wants to chip in some snaps on the room and needs a place to crash. There will be a no "planes, trains and automobiles" rule of course because those AREN'T pillows!!!

Alas, I've been waiting for this since the waning moments of MGC 2011 but due to a firestorm of BS in my life, work, and such, had to cancel my hotel reservation with great sorrow and can't make it.

And thusly, I would like for everyone to enjoy themselves thoroughly but please report that everything about the show sucked afterwards and assure me that I missed nothing. :)

I kid about that. And in fact, I would request that people take as many gazillion photos as possible so that I may re-live the event vicariously after you all get home and upload them, and maybe some short YouTube vids and such. I hope it's great again, and shall be looking forward to CGE 2013!

Does anyone know if the vendor that had all the original arcade blueprints and marquees is coming again? If he has the same item I was drooling over last year, it will be mine this time!

No, he's not coming this year.

Was hoping to make it this year, but it doesn't look good for me to make it. Two years in a row I had plans to go but something else is getting in my way. Recovery from this double surgery just isn't goinng to allow me to drive the 2+ hours to get there.

Well that sucks!

Do you have his contact info?

Update everyone -- we have assessed and put back on sale an extremely limited number of special event tickets. These tickets are for things like Up To Par, Clock Chaos, Tom's Tour and Dine With Scott Adams. Between all four events, less than 50 tickets remain.

For instance, if you want in on that dinner with Scott Adams, this is basically the last chance -- we thought we sold out, and we just found out that we miscounted and we have TWO tickets left. You get to have a really unique experience dining with a true gaming pioneer, and the price includes dinner after the show closes Saturday night.

Want to try out the new MGC Up To Par tournament? Just a few slots remain in this unique video game challenge. Same with our extremely popular Friday night Clock Chaos tournament, which already has the most players it has ever hosted!

Finally, if you have ANY interest in pinball or old arcade games, you must head to Tom's Tour on Friday between 3pm and 8pm. He has over 300 machines set up for you to play, and there are just a few handful of these tickets remaining! A donation to charity and purchase of a two day ticket is required.

Hope to see you at the show!!

I would be ALL over this if I was able to make it friday, unfortunately just saturday for me...

I would like to do the pinball tour, and I believe in my pre-order I did in fact donate to the museum. So am I in, provided I show up at 3pm on Friday?

As long as you did, you'll get an email with details by the end of the week :) If you want to check to make sure, contact me directly through PM or something with your real name, and I'll make sure you're on the list.

OK, I am confirmed to attend. It's been a couple years since my last appearance at MGC, and I'm very excited to return! I will run a small Songbird booth for the first part of Saturday, and then plan on closing up shop so I can actually relax for the rest of the show. Keep an eye out for a batch of Songbird and Telegames Jaguar games including Towers II, Iron Soldier 2, Total Carnage, Skyhammer, Robinson's Requiem, and more. And of course great Lynx games such as MegaPak, CyberVirus, and Champ Rally (the latter two of which have been out of stock for the past 6 months).

Finally, I'll have a newly imported game from Australia: Crystal Mines for the Nintendo DS! This amazing port includes all the original levels plus the Buried Treasure levels published by Songbird a few years back. Grab your copy while you can since this game was never published in the USA.

See you at the show!

So I look at it this way.

1) I don't have a job starting by next next Friday, and I can attend the pinball museum

2) I DO have a job starting prior, or on next next Friday, and I will miss the pinball museum, for I must work for a full day.
