godslabrat
After I downloaded the last system update, I find that every time I start my PS3, I'm greeted with a warning to please read the sytem documentation or whatever. I'm not quite sure what purpose this serves other than to annoy me. Is there a way to disable this splash screen? 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/193431-newish-ps3-disclaimer/ Share on other sites
HammR25
I've been seeing that but haven't ever read it. I just assumed it was telling me I might have an epileptic seizure or something. Probably not any way to disable it. Oh and I found this pretty funny: http://community.us....tart=0&tstart=0 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/193431-newish-ps3-disclaimer/#findComment-2455267 Share on other sites
Atari_Warlord
We can thank the stupid person(s) that probably sued Sony and now the rest of us have to sit through these screens. Eventually it will probably be like the car manuals that are full of warnings not to do stupid things and no usefull information. thegamezmaster
To me it's as bad as having to watch a "commercial" before a video from a game site! Sucks. And I agree with the PS3 disclaimer screen. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/193431-newish-ps3-disclaimer/#findComment-2455483 Share on other sites
SlowCoder
And I agree with the PS3 disclaimer screen. You agree WITH, or ABOUT it? Big difference there. It's not like you're sitting through 5 minutes of unskipable commercials when you start it up like some DVDs. Protoplasym
Another reason why the option (to turn something as rudimentary, insulting, and useless off).... is so vastly necessary. Sony apparently has enlisted all forms of Political Correctness like so many other businesses today... in the hopes of appeasing the minority of nutjobs who aspire to warnings/instructions of said nature. This, warning of similar wording, Publisher and Developer CGI intros that can't be skipped, Game Intros that can't be skipped... and most importantly of all... pale and incomplete option screens for the majority of the games we all know and love - are 'all' overstepping their boundaries contrary to what todays Gamers want... Gamers of past included as well! Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/193431-newish-ps3-disclaimer/#findComment-2577237 Share on other sites
