+hloberg
Created a manual for the Brundles game. The game is a clone of the lemmings. it only runs on a 130XE (or better). It's a real close clone of lemmings and very well done. In fact, I used a Lemmings manual and modified it for 'The Brundles'. Fox-1 / mnx
Why writing a new one? The original game has a manual included, in both German and English. http://orph.atarinet.com/photos/main.php?g2_itemId=8378&g2_imageViewsIndex=
+CharlieChaplin
Well, the original version of the Brundles runs fine on 64k computers. Upon booting one can press SELECT (or Option?) and go to the setup menu. There one can setup the RAM config (besides 64k, also 128k, 192k, 320k - blocks E, AE and 26AE supported) and the controller (joystick, ST-mouse, Touch-Tablet, Animation station). So, if your version of The Brundles does not run on a 64k computer or not with the controller you want, go to the setup menu and change it there... There is also a "Brundles Editor" that runs with an ST-mouse in port 2 of the A8 (requires a backup of the original Brundles levels, since they will be overwritten with the new created levels!). Both german and english docs are included on this disk-image... -Andreas Koch. I was just able to read over FOXS post of the picture of the original docs and see that you press the space key at boot and that gets you the configuration menu. If an original docs isn't already scanned (should have asked first to everyone) I add the information in my docs about the editor and configure. thanks, HLO Edited February 16, 2012 by hloberg
Fox-1 / mnx
Is there a scan of that? I can't read it very well? That pic isn't mine. Just Googled it. Somehow I managed to loose both my Brundles and Brundles Editor disks. I'm pretty sure I once had them. I think I bought those in Hannau from Kemal himself, a long time ago. Hum, not sure how I manged to miss that when I was Google-ing for the manual. Gotta work on my Google skills. When I played the game I've got to say that it is a very impressive bit of programming. As for why I make manuals? When I have some software (.atr or otherwise) I like having the manual on a .pdf and put it on my book reader (saves space, easier to find). When I can't find a complete .pdf of a manual I piece together one from what I can find on the internet or purchase it on e-bay. So to help others out I sometime post what I create. But, I think from now on I might want to ask around to be sure some else doesn't already have a manual or more information before I post (my bad). thanks, HLO
pseudografx
Why is this topic in the Programming forum? :-)

I was under the impression you had the original game, which has the manual included. So to help others out I sometime post what I create. Just continue to do that. I too post about anything Atari related I do these days, however this is more because it's easier to find again later for me myself :-) But, I think from now on I might want to ask around to be sure some else doesn't already have a manual or more information before I post (my bad). Google knows more than you would like it to know :-) In the past 2 days I answered 9 questions (on here and other places) which I just Googled. Of 5 of them I didn't even have a clue about what system they were talking about. edit: Why is this topic in the Programming forum? :-) Good question. Even Google doesn't know :-) Edited February 16, 2012 by Fox-1 / mnx
R4ngerM4n
There is an English description on the backside of the manual: "Before playing the first time you should load the Customizer ... To load the Customizer type Space when loading sound starts."
Marius
Ah what a pity... when I read the topic title I thought a new manual, AND a new disk... I was hoping for a ONE-ATR version of this great game. Switching disks is not on all ATR-based interfaces very easy to do. When the game could be converted to one larger atr... that would be awesome. Anyone?
+hloberg
Oh well, Since there are objections to me posting things like this in the programmer forum (rightly so after I got to thinking about it) I'll just post stuff like this to my website from here on. As for recreating the manual, I do scan in manuals when I can get one. I check ebay (and other sources) regularly for Atari stuff. This one is so rare I haven't been able to get a copy. The one copy I have seen on ebay of recent the guy wanted way too much for it. Anyway, thanks to all for the help on what I was missing. Shawn Jefferson
Why not just post it in the Atari 8-bit forum instead?
