To this day, it is the ONLY online community (C=) where I've seen everything from threats involving guns and or physical violence, to dudes dressed in drag holding up Vic 20 carts. It's pretty wild.

It's like highschool 2.0, only all the participants are the people who got picked on, so they're all kind of retarded at it.

However, there are still some pretty cool people floating around. Robert Bernardo was pretty cool even though people gave him shit all the time.

one of the coolest dudes though was Lord Ronin, but he died :-/

It's Lemon64 by far.

be careful though. There's some real polesmokers on that forum.

It used to be way better like 10 years ago.

Gotta agree I have been on Lemon64 since its Old old message board Pre-Forum era

While yes there are some not so godd people on there they are far out numbered by the good ones

I first started lurking around 2002, when I got my first C64 and needed a disk notcher... it's gone pretty down hill these days. I stopped going for awhile, and forgot my login info, so I made a new account... and Kim deleted the old one rather than the new one, so my "Member Since" is off by a few years -_-; I managed to predate some of the arrogant fun-killers, which is funny, since I was like, 12.

Yeah there are alot of good people, and lately it seems the forum is less irritating to be on. I pop in now and again to read stuff and post. Not too often though, since I frequent a PC Engine forum instead.

I'm sure you've seen me on there, arguing with the usual cast of pricks.

I thought it was a toss up between lemon 64 and csdb (commodore scene database), but someone here told me that csdb is not such a good site, unless your'e well into demo coding (as it seems very technical over on csdb)

The important word is "scene", in this context referring specifically to the demo and cracking scenes rather than the wider C64 community; the scene as an entity has always been a little grumpy, more into creating than anything else and somewhere between stand-offish and openly hostile when dealing with newcomers/outsiders - and it can't see the point in changing now it's a bit older.

If you just want to do the "does anyone remember playing" or "name this game" kind of thing you're probably better off visiting Lemon even if i wouldn't recommend it for personal reasons.
