patbb
Fire Barrel 211,800 R Type 181,300 I've never really cared for the R-Type games. Fire Barrel is fun though. I played it with .106 with the sound off B Yeah on MAME32 Fire Barrel has horrible sound (the same short sound repeats over and over) it is best played with sound off and the high score screen is messed up ( it's not centered and doesn't show the scores for 9th and 10th place ). The 100% working fire barrel required MAME 0.140u3 and higher.

M.A.M.E Offender
A little necessary update on Wonder Boy: 108,490 For my first "Wonder Boy`` post, I merely scratched the surface of the game. I didn't really like it too much. But after going to it again, and again, I started to understand how the game works. I didn't realize it has so many different things to offer. You can throw tomahawks, skateboard, catch different fruits to increase your vitality, jump, get followed by bats that suck the life right out of you, claim `dolls` for bonus points at the end of the board, ping off secret "S" markers that are invisible, be invincible(kind of like the star in Super Mario Bros), and more!! Actually, if someone were to compare this game to Super Mario Bros, I would say there is no competition. This one is waaaay better. It has a kind of "cartoonish" feel to it and, like many Sega games, is loads of fun!! I tell you, Sega rarely disappoints! There is no exception for Wonder Boy. ...and a little update for Strikers 1945 350,400 This is a great shooter for more than one reason. I like how the point value varies on the bars of gold that are hidden under buildings, tanks and what not. The shinier the gold bar is when you pick it up, the more points you will receive. Different values are 200,500, 1000 and topping out at 2000 points. I also like the amount of weapons that are distributed. Not too high, not too low. There are some shooters out there that give out waay too many weapons. A good example of this is Don Pachi. I played it from start to finish, used about 300 credits, and came across about 500 weapons. When the frequency of receiving weapons is that high, it kind of waters the excitement of getting the weapon down. Other shooters I know of suffer from the opposite, they don't offer enough weaponry. So your flying around with a pea-sized weapon for more than half the game!! Strikers 1945 hands out just enough weapons to make it feel rewarding, if you will. Thirdly, I think the "kill zone" on your ship is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. On the Don Pachi sequel, DODONPACHI, The kill zone is microscopic. Conversely, on a game like Raiden, the kill zone can actually be outside of your ship!! This game offers the happy medium.

He did not post scores for all of the games but the ones he did were enough to keep him on top! I'm guessing he had played some of these before Good Game guys!
