cparsley Posted March 19, 2012 Share Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) SCORES ARE FINAL (v2) There is a time when all good things have to come to an end, and for the final three competitors in the ignagural King of the Mountain Knock Out competition, that time has now come. To determine a Intellivision champion that will be ready to take on the like of the Atari, Coleco, NES and Genesis players, a battle fitting of King of the Mountain title shall now commence. Each of our three remaining combatants were asked to select their own title they would like to have in this final. Each player's game will be included in the final. So we have: Happy Trails (Skill setting : 5), Mousetrap (Skill Setting: 3), and Pinball (No setting required) in the final per their selections. There is also one additional game, fitting of the name of the competition. The final title for the INTV Grand Final is : King of the Mountain (really, you didn't see that coming) (Starting skill level : Mountain 1). As per there being four games, a time of one month (34 days) will be applied to the final competition, concluding on April 22nd, 2012. SCORING WILL OCCUR IN THE FOLLOWING FASHION: For HSC Scoring, the standard 10,9,8,6,4,2,1 will be applied per game, allowing any HSC player to score a maximum of 40 points in the final of the HSC Winter season. For the KO Scoring, scoring will be based on a percentage of top player's score in the game, with the top score receiving 100 points. Example: Jacob scores 10,000 in Mousetrap (in first place), while cparsley scores 2,000. Jacob 10,000 (100 pts) cparsley 2,000 (20 pts) Total scoring across the four games will determine the Intellivision Grand Champion moving on to face the other consoles in the Grand Championships. But first, stock up on supplies -- you won't get far without food and shelter. But don't overpack -- the extra weight will slow you down. Reach the top of the mountain by managing the quantity of Fire, Food, Water, Ammunition, Shelter, Raft you carry. Watch for weather conditions and do not exhaust the $300 you are given when purchasing your goods. As you climb the mountain, your health is shown by the color of your climber. cparsley Posted March 30, 2012 Author Share Posted March 30, 2012 You know, I thought I was going to hate Happy Trails the most of the four games we have in the final... I WAS WRONG!!! That honor goes to Mousetrap. Hands down the WORST control scheme ever in a INTV game (and yes that's saying something)... One moment your mouse overshoots the turn majorly, and the next second he stops on a dime, one space forward. In addition, if your playing one player, why can't EITHER gamepad control another crazy scheme.... 1,2,3 for doors, and 5 (not a side button mind you), but the keypad 5!!! to turn into a dog? Also, wth is with this bird, I thought birds hated being anywhere near a cat, but this one can't stand being anything further than an inch from my out of control kitty...
