JacobZu7zu7 Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) 2600 Knockout Game 14: + 2600 HIGH SCORE CHALLENGE 2012 Our fourteenth HSC + Elimination round is ESCAPE FROM THE MINDMASTER SETTING: GAME 1 (DEFAULT GAME) (PLAYER'S CHOICE) DIFFICULTY: B (9 chances) / (Slower Alien Stalker) A (5 chances) / (Faster Alien Stalker) DEADLINE TO PLAY: This round has now begun, it will run a week or until Sunday, April 8th 11:59PM EST (EASTERN TIME) Play with Atari 2600 Console, or Emulation. Any joystick or keyboard is fine! Pics are encoraged here, however I WILL accept a no pic score. Anyone can jump in and play for a High Score and Ranking, if they like... Every score will be counted for the High Score Challenge also, even if you're not entered in the Winter 2600 Knockout. Everyone starts each game with a score of ZERO, one goal is to get above 0... or get a high score, if you don't you will be eliminated and the lowest score earned of the active KO players, is safe! A KING status will be awarded at the end of every round winner, as well as rankings and points. First place gets +15 points! From there on, 1+ less... For the K.O., you need not win, just not finish LAST! Let the battle begin... THIS GAME IS ALSO OPEN FOR HIGH SCORE CLUB POINTS AND RANKING! Red font indicates out of the knockout but playing for ranking and score. From this point onward it could be anyone! This is where I predict the low score of the week... but first. Recap: Laser gates I predicted a low score of 42K. This is how it ended up. 45,249 - cparsley 44,629 - DTKofoed 42,599 - oyamafamily WOW I was right! Thank-you, thank-you. Those high scores were once again unbelievable! 85,006 - Deteacher 84,736 - Liduario 84,236 - Gorfy All separated by less than 800 pts! Now onward... EFTM Now this game is impressive to me because it is one of the few 1st person games for the Atari 2600 and only the second I have ever played. Great game. Scoring sometimes is based on luck. If you get the right set-up with the objects in a nice easy location then you can score high. My only grip is that they alien guy scares me. Since we are down to 9 plyers then my prediction will be 210! Wow, I have never gotten that high so this week will be a challenge for me. Maybe, just a slight maybe, we might see a low score of 150.
