All games with paddles are new to me! I even started a topic in the wanted session of the forum to buy some paddles and stelladaptor.

Until I have them, these are my scores playing with the mouse and, as always, the latest snapshot:

1) 1,088 (Mon)

2) 1,762

3) 1,884

4) 1,898 (Tue)

5) 2,296 (Fri)

After a few warm up games, a paltry 3,676!

I don't know how some folks (Atarian7) get such high scores! It's incredible. The last time we played this I barely managed to crack 10K and surprise the mad bomber. I'm hoping to get that high again, but I've got some rust to shake off.

Another question about rules for Jacob ;-) -- edit --> I hope it's not a bad time for asking about rules. I said "another question" after atarian7's before I could see cparsley post.

I used ataroid to play atari on my atrix android. Well it isn't that good and I don't use it for the HSC.

But today I discovered that droid2600 can emulate paddles using the touch screen! ;) I installed it and played just a few games of kaboom and I'm not sure if it's easier than a mouse or paddles (never used paddles in my life :_( ).

I only know it's a fun way to play kaboom with your fingers. So I ask if I can submit scores using a touch screen as paddles. Rules permit only joysticks and keyboards, but as in astroblast I presume mouse is accepted too.

Wow! We have had some CRAZY Top 10. :-o

First one of the best Atari HSC Players goes down in Laser Gates then Cparsley is 2 minutes (that's right 12:02am) too late to submit his score which would have put him in the next round. Thanks to him I am in the Kaboom round.

So, this is where I predict the low score of the week.

But first...

Last week for EFTM I predicted a low score of 210. Wow was I off. The scores were so much higher. The KO tourney is really pushing the players to perform at their best and it shows.

444 - DT Kofoed 7th

349 - Vocelli 8th - not KO'ed because cparsley score of 549 was submitted at 12:02am.

Everyone who is left made it out of the maze at least once. WOW!

The high scores were...

615 - toymailman 1st

598 - Jifremok 2nd

549 - cparsley 9th (actual KO'ed player)

That high score may never be broken!

Onward to Kaboom! Now you are either really good at this game OR really bad. This is a hard prediction. Since we are down to 8 players and all are good I am predicting a low score of... 18K. That's right 18K. It might even be higher. Once you can get past 10K and can perform well with 1-2 buckets then you should make it to 18K. I know I have broken 20K once as a kid. So... good luck!

Here is my first score.

Vocelli: 6682

Small improvement: 4,587!

post-9712-0-26467200-1333990453_thumb.jpg

The more I play in one sitting, the worse I seem to get, so I need to take a break for now. I'm starting to get the groove back, but I need some work. I'm glad I'm off this week. I'm going to need the time get back into this one.

You're doing well for a beginner. You should be able to crack 10,000 after a couple of days. I've been practicing on and off for the last 10 years trying to reach 999,999. I guess I need more endurance.

Wow! Vocelli, all I can say is that I hope you're way off on your prediction this week. Because if you're right, I'm dead in the water. :) It took every ounce of determination for me to break 10K the last time this game was played. I think the odds of me reaching 18K this week are slimmer than winning the lottery. :)

Did I mention my currently acquired aversion to paddle games? About 30 years ago, I had a Kaboom score of 16k OR 17k. Now it takes half the week just to get my shaky hand to steady up some. I'm gonna give my best go, though. I think if I make 5 digits this week, I'll have a little mini-celebration, no matter what happens in the tourney.
