+therealbountybob
Amazing Bob, if you put as much effort into your gaming as you do organising HSC and making up all those rules you'd be top of the league . Thanks for all your efforts. I don't remember playing any of these games before so I've got some work to do thanks McK hope you noticed the Southampton tune First goes for me on DiamondZ - completed screens 1 - 10 (1-2 in a row!!!) Justin Case if you're out there I think this is one you'll like [Press Select to turn music on/off] EMI Soccer ok we'll pretend it's Soccer not Football... Played my first handicap match (level 4) Lost 5-0 then played a level 3 match and won 2-1. You can play any number of games for the group stage folks but you must post all scores and the last 10 scores will count. [Get a friend to hold the space bar down to pause!] Diamond Mine looks a fun game, after the first 5 levels I saw a message flash up about losing too many diamonds - wonder if you get a code if you do well or perhaps a bonus? The game gets easier or see on PAL/CRT TV after the first 5 are done - try colour on max, brightness low - this will give our NTSC players a break as we have a handicap for a change! 11,216. If you've not worked it out yet then looks like you get the diamonds take them to the assay office (? dotted box) leave through the bottom door to get the rest or right door ro exit - when you have collected them all exit the screen (top left). You can shoot the baddies. Looks a gem of a game Perhaps someone will PAL fix the graphics one day [just read on atarimania that the game supports 2 players at the same time - might be fun ] [space = Pause] For BD2 were looking for total number of completed caves, remember you can start on any level and any cave from the menu (use Joystick to select); top players can only start on A/1 A/2 A/3 A/4 A/5 (check first post for rules) The in game bonus man single screens (D/H/L/P?) will count as beaten even if you fail to get the extra man. Diamonds - as well as score you might want to post the level you got to; who knows there may be an extra bonus point kicking around Screenshots for the football/Diamondz are optional (if your new just play and post scores don't worry about them). Game Instructions I've added the atarimania (and fandal) games links to post #1. Players might want to re-read post #1 as I've updated a few bits Have fun everyone @rr atarionline.pl have an ATR of the Soccer "v1" hope this will work for you? roadrunner
I played 2 soccer games and i lost 0-11 each time. On level 2 I'm not digging this one. My players just stand there. They don't move or go after the ball. I know i have to switch players but still. I prefer Realsports soccer for the 2600 and 5200 Edited May 30, 2012 by roadrunner
McKong
Diamond Mine 31580. Got the password for the 1st 5 levels, which allows you to skip to the 2nd 5 levels at the start of the game. Bonus life at 20k. Plus two games of footy last night. 2-1 and 1-2 both on level 3. +therealbountybob
I played 2 soccer games and i lost 0-11 each time. On level 2 I'm not digging this one. My players just stand there. They don't move or go after the ball. I know i have to switch players but still. I prefer Realsports soccer for the 2600 and 5200 ok if anyone's really getting whooped you can play on level 1. The players do retain some sort of position from where you left them but will run back if you are scrolled towards your own goal... EMI/Soccer hints They always kick the ball so if you're not going to get it position yourself to intercept their kick. Learn to pass/play the ball into space (press fire when the ball is near the receiving player - not too early!) The ball always travels the same distance so get used to it and use it to your advantage Try and space your players out - keep them in position Crucially keep players away from your goalie and central defender so you have time to select them when the ball comes near. You can easily outrun the computer players (especially on levels 1 and 2) Don't run with the ball as it slows you down (run until they get near you then kick it past them) Don't kick the ball to near to their goal keeper Kick the ball out even for a corner to stop them shooting or getting a break - again positon your man as it goes out. Don't try and turn with the ball if they are about to tackle you - kick it to a team mate the way you are facing or put it out for a throw. It's seems easier to score a horizontal shot - the diagonals are harder to line up! I played 3 more group games Lost 1-2 (lv3), Lost 0-2 (lv4) Won 2-0 (lv3) Diamond Mine (thankfully much easier to see after the first 5 mines) 21,650 - there were extra cars on mines 8 & 9. You get a bonus for retreiving all 8 diamonds DiamondZ completed levels 11-20 (completed 1-5 from the start in a & row in time!) DiamondS 1.605 (level 4, I think) players outside the top 10 can use the button to pause the game for thinking time. DiamondS Hints: A good strategy is to bury down and get all the diamonds apart from 1 Then go to the top of the screen to double the points Then go and get the last clump. Go down the bottom straight away. Don't dig tunnels next to tunnels. Hope this helps people... tomorrow Boulderdash II

+therealbountybob
EMI Soccer I don't think playing on level 1 will help me. lol Quite a few times using my goalie to move the ball i scored on my own team. lol C'mon level 1 is easy!!! you can run rungs around them - get the ball, run right, when then get really near you kick it right, run and get it - right through the middle and score (just keep it away from their keeper) If you get the ball with your goalie under pressure just shoot it out past the goal line for a corner - this gives you time to think. KEEP your players away from your goalie. played a couple more footy matches (lv3) drew 1-1 and won 4-1 My scores so far: L 0-5* W 2-1 L 1-2 L 0-2* W 2-0 D 1-1 W 4-1 (*level 4 others level 3) on DiamondZ I've completed 21-26 it's getting trickier now If anyone needs any help let me know - just PLAY ATARI
+therealbountybob
Boulder Dash - 368 (Not sure what difficulty level - whatever the default is) It starts on Level 1 (Cave A) move joystick to change - have you beaten a level yet? Each difficulty level has a variation of the same cave so once you figure out how to do a cave you can have a go on other 4 levels BDII Hints You can hold fire down to grab - useful for making a hole and making a quick exit, or pushing a boulder and not moving You can push boulders! You'll only die when you move down and stop, so make sure you always move L/R afterwards. Hide under boulders to escape baddies - horizontal tunnel under them and they fall to block you in Do each screen in sections - stopping in safe areas Remember you don't always need all the diamonds - the number required is shown on the status bar, you'll hear a bang see a flash when you have enough Clear out an area for baddies to go into to give you more time to get past them CRUCIALLY - Learn to RING the baddies - trap them on an island of earth let them follow you then double back on them to loop them (clockwise or anticlockwise depending on if they are fireflies or butterflies) Good Luck! Each difficulty level has a variation of the same cave so once you figure out how to do a cave you can have a go on other 4 levels It's a real long time since I've played BDII, DBI seems to be fresher in my memory... completed A1-F1 and then A1-H1 (4,674). Finished my 10 (you can play more or less games folks) W4-1, W4-1, W3-2 scored the winner in the dying seconds I think the 2nd BDII cave is "The Silos" a really fun level. You need to block in all the gaps to suffocate the amoeba - it will then turn to lovely shiny diamonds. Hints: Use the grab to drop boulders at the top left and right (go round). You can use Rockford to block in the amoeba - so drop a few boulders out of the bottom of one and stand beneath it and wait Use the grab (keep fire held) to collect diamonds as they fall - great for clearing out big stashes. A lot of levels like this offer the chance to be extra greedy, but you need to keep an eye on the timer too, if you're feeling adventurous you can even go in the silos and work your way up (I'm sure I used to do this but will need to play lots more). I really rate BDII right up there with BBSB and the other A8 greats There are tons of extra men (every 500 points) plus the bonus screens every 4 caves (has anyone figured out how to get that diamond in Cave D) ? Some unwritten (and now typed) Boulderdash Laws 1. It is shameful to get Rockford stuck so that you cannot kill him (and have to press escape). 2. Same goes for running out of time - you must do the honourable thing and splat him. 3. You must get all the diamonds... greed is good (ok this one's optional as some of them are next to fire flies!) +therealbountybob
Only managed to clear cave 1-A, but wish we had more time on Boulderdash (could have been a nice bonus contest). We have 4 weeks for the Diamonds Jubilee games (might even be extended so plenty of time) the Football tournament is running at the same time - group stage finishes at the end of the week - at the momement playing 1 game will be enough to qualify). Boulderdash II is great fun so this gives new players time to get into the game, really worth the effort - it's one of the few games where you don't mind screwing it up / getting squished as it's so much fun to play EMI soccer level 1 i lost 2-0 Getting there rr - c'mon go for a draw just kick the ball into touch for 10 mins to grind out a 0-0 and you'll score a point in the tables (erm when I do them!)
