@ sikor

It's because it has corupted sound when you play 1988 version from xex file on real Atari 800xl/65xe. You can load this game from atarimax cart to see(hear) a difference.

Hmm, interesting... I haven't atarimax, but maybe I try put it to SIC cart. Thx for info.

I think warping gives you more points than if you actually played through the levels. I will have to break this game out tonight and see if I still remember how to warp.

I'm back!!

It does* - so we'll keep two scoreboards one for Warped players and one for the Sloggers ;)

I've played the '84 ver got to level 7 with no warps 280,706... will play the '88 ver next :)

*On 1st screen of '84 ver go to bottom left and jump towards the big steps you are taken to level 3 and score 100K - I scored 100K half way through level 3.

So we need a fixed sound 1988 XEX ver eh???

Played the 'XE' 1988 file ver, yes shame about the sound... 206,478 (level 5) the gameplay is slower (easier on the earlier levels anyway?) making the game slightly less exhilarating/fun than the '84 ver in my not-so-humble opinion :D Extra men are 70K and not 50K and you start with 3 bears instead of 5.... (Looks like the warp gets you to the highest level previousy reached and awards tons of points).

So for the main tables please play WITHOUT warps on either version - If you take warps and complete the game (does the game end at Lv10 guys or just get too hard?! there'll be a bonus point or two - how hard was it to complete? ) perhaps someone can do a list of the warp scores and people can post which level they warped to??? Crazy Idea but if everyone wants to play both versions could do a combined score?!

Here's what we have so far!

I have no clue how to play Heavy Metal. Let's Rock!

It's really easy move the joystick and steer the baked bean guy onto the pads - warp to screens - collect the Jewels - cover yourself in ketchup and climb into a tin with your friends :-o :-o :-o

Not sure I'll ever get used to the controls on this & I'm struggling to differentiate between baddies n goodies.

Also, I have a swollen toe which is affecting my balance, aggravated by an inner ear complaint. :rolling: :rolling:

26,906

Pretty good  no, not the score! I'll add it to the list of valid HSC excuses :D :P

p.s. there are no goodies - you're a bear so can't imagine any good coming of this...

LVL:10 - no warp

I only know warp on level1 - it teleport to highest level solved without warp :) This way (warp) you can go to the maximum 8 Level with 490K

Metal 2J (DIE ;) haha and immpossible to out of room)
