Synthpopalooza
Whoops, that was supposed to have been a PM to PacManPlus. Ooops ... spoilers ... y'all weren't sposed to know that yet.
tep392
Levels 1, 2, and 3 all have music. The Invincible tune also has music, as does the death sequence and the 'End Game'. The 'End Level' also has music, but that's been there all along. What's left: Level 4, 5, and 6 (the hidden level) music. Boss Fight Music Defeat Boss Tune Title screem music. I have to say again, Synthpopalooza is doing excellent work with his ideas and music coding. I am glad he wanted to be a part of this. Thanks, Bob "So when do we get to hear a sample?" tep392 asks impatiently.
PacManPlus
Thanks, guys! "So when do we get to hear a sample?" tep392 asks impatiently. Soon. I want to make a big impact with the music. :D
Stun Runner 87
Some thoughts for level 6 (hidden level) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fDkxQBjgFU (without the horrible singing of course) ... from the Carmen opera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ntEvxo2UGc Also from Carmen, the bit I was thinking of starts at 2:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-4J5j74VPw Ravel's Bolero The idea is, I was thinking something middle eastern or Spanish sounding, since there's a lot of desert in this level. You should use this for boss music. :)
Synthpopalooza
Well, as we're looking to stay out of copyright issues, I am sticking with classical music for this. Wouldn't want Michael Jackson's estate comin after us ya know. Edited June 2, 2013 by Synthpopalooza

Synthpopalooza
It's been an adventure. Not to mention on this last piece of music, I had to sit through horrible opera singing for about 3 hours to transcribe the melody for the hidden level. (Sorry, I don't do opera singing very well). I am now singing "Torreador, torreador!" in my sleep.

PacManPlus
Hi guys! Here is RC1, enjoy the music At the moment, it only plays correctly in ProSystem due to a bug in the emulator (that allows writes to Pokey and reads from the ROM). Thanks, Bob Bentley.a78 Bentley.BIN BentleyP.A78 BentleyP.BIN
Trebor
Love, love, love even the start of things...A few bars starting off..sounding like things could be scary, it could be spooky, dangerous and then... TA-DA... Bentley Bear with "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh". Great stuff! Awesome start choice. What I especially love is the nostalgia it brings back. Granted the original song was years before the 7800, but right in the mid to late 80's Downy fabric softener used this exact song with a kid writing home and his/her mom writing back. It also led to a resurgence of the song among kids (At least around where I lived) to make up their own lyrics ...All at the heart of the 80's and when the 7800 was on the market. It really is cool to have this kicking things off. EDIT: YES, found it!!! - Version 1 1985:http://youtu.be/1ZoERwnXOoU Version 2 1986: http://youtu.be/97uo6NlKbuI Edited June 25, 2013 by Trebor
Synthpopalooza
Yes, the original music is actually from a ballet called La Gioconda ... the music is called Dance of the Hours, and Alan Sherman co-opted this music for his Hello Mudduh song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7f4xEbRGrA Edited June 25, 2013 by Synthpopalooza
Jinks
Awesome I will not be tempted to emulate as want to get the full Wow effect plugging it into my 7800 xm. Looks and Sounds like its gonna be great. I am very happy this game has been completed and you pulled thru all the struggles that came along with it! Congrats PMP and Synth!! Synthpopalooza
I need to dig my 7800 out of the basement, buy a new power cord (and an XM) and give this a try on the real hardware. Assuming I even still have my 7800.
Trebor
Such in a rush to get into this missed listening to the Title Screen music....Just AWESOME! And in case it hasn't been mentioned, the controls/settings have been reversed so it is more in-tuned with how ProSystem functions by default. No need to hold down any F5/F6 keys to get it to recoginze two button controller, and you're running/fire is the left button, jump is on the right. tep392
Wow, this turn out great! Execellent work on the music Sythpopalooza. And great work, as always, Bob. I'm really glad you decided to come back to the 7800. So what's next?
DracIsBack
Music sounds awesome. I'm humming "hello mudder ... hello fadder ... here I am at Camp Granada now!" On a real device, Bentley and the other sprites are warped.
Trebor
Music sounds awesome. I'm humming "hello mudder ... hello fadder ... here I am at Camp Granada now!" On a real device, Bentley and the other sprites are warped. That looks like a MESS Seriously, I think that is due to the writes to POKEY that aren't possible on a 'base' 7800. It needs the XM to sort it out...But I'm sure someone with a better handle on the tech details will respond.
