SS
I have managed to locate an .ATX copy of the Datasoft disk release of Dig Dug but have not been able to find either an .ATR or .XEX of the Datasoft version. The .ATX works fine on Altirra bit is no good for real hardware. Does anyone know where I might be able to find an .ATR or .EXE of the Datasoft release? Thanks. Rybags
Supposedly the Datasoft release is the same as the 5200 release which itself was later released on the computer by Atari on cartridge. Looks like Fandal's site has it as an Xex http://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=1740 If that's not a good enough match then the ATX version could probably be dumped from the emulator and made into an executable. SS
Other than the title copyright and title screens there doesn't seem to be any differences between the Datasoft and 1983/5200 Atari releases. I will see if I can't use Altirra to extract the executable from the .ATX later today.
Rybags
Probably easiest to set a trap that trips just when the game's loaded but not yet initialized. Then dump out the required areas and tack an Init stub onto it. It seems to live in the $8000-$BFFF cartridge space but some data around $7600-$7FFF as well.
