Pole Pos. is much harder on NTSC (last time in the Team Round I played on the emulator) PAL/European players get much more time, more chance to complete laps and more score but Marius1976 kindly created a harder PAL version (has purple skies) so play any and say what system you are on when posting 1.NTSC, 2.PAL or 3.MARIUS If you want to play on all three (using emulation etc) that's fine. Practice using the erm "practise run" [PAL players wanting a tougher challenge play the Marius version] Settings (Use Select/F3=Laps Option/F4=Track) "1 LAP Series" Play each of the 3 tracks in a row ending with the Atari GP/DS500. NO restarts. Post all scores. "2 LAP Series" Play each of the 3 tracks in a row ending with the Atari GP/DS500. NO restarts. Post all scores. (Yes you can play more than once, but must play all three tracks in a row again) "8 LAP Pro Challenge" Atari GP/Datasoft 500 for the better players - you know who you are or "8 LAP Ham and Egger Challenge" MALIBU/MONACO GP don't be proud, this is a chance for you to win a round Download here: AtariAge Marius PAL Version XEX ATR (mydos/1050 density): PolePositionMariusPALandFixedNTSCFileVersions.ATR Atarimania (instructions & files) ATARI USA DATASOFT UK ATARI UK Fandal XEX Atarionline.pl ATR/XEX Wiki Space is pause - can use on end of race screens Scoring & Tables Post #14 Round finishes Sat 28th *SUN 29th* July 10am HSC Records: Atari GP(DS500): NTSC 106,450 "Marius1976" (just to confuse matters!) +therealbountybob
2 Lap Series (Marius Version) Malibu 34,000 (110"00) Q5 Namco 37,200 (212"42) Pole Atari GP 35,150 (115"43) Q2 Total 106,350 8 Lap Pro Challenge (Marius Version) 100,200 (474"25) Q5 @McKong I've added an ATR to the 1st post with the Marius PAL & his fixed flag graphic NTSC file versions Looks like you've beaten the PAL record already Things to look out for in >>>Pole Position>>>: Had the 211Mph bug(?) but I'm now thinking this may be a feature(!) - It happened after I'd overtaken two cars down the middle of the Final Straight - I felt that 'pull' on the car so am wondering if they coded in some sort of slip-stream feature to give you a turbo boost? Managed to pull off an overtake on the inside kerb was very pleased with that. Reading the posts from last time PP was played here you can overtake on the outside kerb; if you're lucky! PAL users be careful not to clock up too many seconds on the 8-lapper as the timer bug can come into play - can't remember how many seconds this is?! The 3 courses are all the same? There's only the one corner that is really tricky so break or use a bit of inside kerb to slow yourslef down. Change from Low to Hi gear (pull back on stick) at 105mph - can't remember who it was who crawled round the track at 105mph! might have been you littlemanjack and push forward to go into Low gear after crashing. When you crash try taking out more than one car, or a car and a sign - is it possible to do 2 cars and a sign - might earn you a HSC bonus point Have fun! jblenkle
Need Scoring Clarification - OK, say for example in the 1 lap race...I understand we are to play all three tracks...but what actually counts for scoring purposes? The total score for all three tracks? If, for example, we run up a "best score" on Malibu, but totally suck on our Namco and Atari GP rounds...do we post our "best" score for Malibu? Or because our total score falls under our previous best "total score" do we not count that round of three races and try again?

It's all three tracks in a row for the 1 and 2 lap series', so if you have a blow out on the Atari GP after two stunning victories then it's tough times This way we have a bit more pressure adding to the challenge (You could re-start Malibu/Monaco though ) I love Pole Position and didn't even know there were multiple track options in the A8 version.
