+therealbountybob
What version are you getting these nutz speeds on? the NTSC version I am playing tops out at 195? Think it's all of them... I've had 212 on the Marius version and think Zylon had 228 on NTSC? Don't think it affects the scoring may be just a display glitch ? Let me know if you (anyone) does an 8-lapper without crashing (or 2 or less crashes)... the scoring adjustments may be tweaked a bit more as haven't decided if the 8-lap Atari GP offers the same scoring potential on all versions

+orpheuswaking
Ah, after playing some more I got 212 on NTSC, however I then kept getting the lap 6 bug where it would go to the next lap and only give me 7 seconds. Which sucks as I am trying to complete with no crashes (my previous round had two crashes) Also if I play the 8 lap challenge, am I precluded from the 1 or 2 lap round? Ignore me, I just looked at the tables and found my answer Edited July 17, 2012 by orpheuswaking
Sikor
2 lap sesion (Marius PAL): Malibu: 38900 Namco: 38850 Atari: 39750 Interesting: in TRBB atr NTSC verion has longest time than Marius version PAL (90 instead 86 in qulify mode and 75 instead 70 for first lap mode). On PAL computer NTSC version is much easier - so, it is good point to practice on this and after then play in PAL version...
Marius
Hi. Today I gave it a quick try... I used my own version (the Marius version, on my PAL 600XL). This is result for 1 lap races (this is qualify + 1 lap) Unfortunately I now find out I can not upload pictures. I am on vacation and my mobile phone does share the 3G connection, but pics won't upload. So sorry, I am not into the competition this time. Marius
@sikor When I 'hacked' the original Pole Position game, I tried to make Pole Position as hard as the Pole Position on an NTSC machine. I do not have experience with Pole Position on NTSC, but my 'marius' version, should be (if we look at the timing) as hard as the NTSC version. I did not change the speed of the game, so NTSC version is still little different. I won't say NTSC is harder than Marius version. A game that runs faster, can be easier to control. Anyway: I hope you folks have fun with this competition. I might join again sometime...

Marius
What is different from PAL version? You have seriously less time each round, and you get less extra time. It has been calculated a few times (by me) to make sure the comparison with NTSC (original version!) is as close as possible. So playing a qualification round on the Marius Version on a PAL computer, will lead to (almost) same result as playing the smae qualification round with the original Pole Position on a NTSC machine. And this guilts for all other laps too ofcourse. And I fixed the flag... in the existing file verisons the flag was garbaged (the flag in the final round) For HSC purpous I colored the sky purple, so you can easily see that the 'tweaked' version is used. but again: play the marius version on a PAL computer ofcouse.
