Creature XL
Crtxl imagine how much if we ever get creatures. Rich and famous... Only famous - not rich. You can't sell a conversion. At least not without asking Steve Rowlands permission.

When it see the game on A8 and how many copies it would sell he would agree for sure (with some part of the money...). Might be. However, its not worth the effort. My (optimal) calculation looks like this: 10 EUR (Or US Dollar) earned per sell. 100 sells max, amounts to 1000EUR. Divided by 3 (or 4 people) 250-333 earned. What is your calculation? I remember you started a thread about this some month ago. My motivation for C2 is not based on money as I explained in lots of posts already. So it will be done. But not immediately. José Pereira
I was joking. Yes, we all think that the possible are around 100 copies. But probably some more if they are great names. On c64 they have 3 or 4 companies (one more to come) and even thinking they are more users would 100 be worth for them? I remember to saw somewhere that they normally produce around 60/80 copies. And they sold each copy for less than 10?. That old topic from me was because someone wanted money to do last ninja. Money isn't also what i want with all my tries. At least not without asking Steve Rowlands permission. They did allow a rerelease of Mayhem in Monsterland, but that was self-published to start with. Seeing as creatures went out through Thalamus it might be a different issue as to whose permission is needed though. perhaps even something that isn't a shoot 'em up. =-) I'm trying- I just need a little less work getting in the way

Seeing as creatures went out through Thalamus it might be a different issue as to whose permission is needed though. Kenz at Psytronik has already arranged clearances for his re-releases of Creatures and Creatures 2 so he'd be the best person to talk to as regards who should be approached for permission. i suspect the rights have probably reverted to John and Steve Rowlands but the only other person it could be is Andy Roberts who has the bulk of the Thalamus paperwork. I'm trying- I just need a little less work getting in the way And you need to finish that Spectrum version of Reaxion before Play! =-) On c64 they have 3 or 4 companies (one more to come) At the moment there are i think six including a German outfit that does text adventures (only three are dedicated solely to the C64 and will happily release games on other platforms if they have the hardware to do mastering) and i know of at least one in the formative stages - i can't say anything about that one at the moment but it's surprisingly relevant... it's worth noting that these are mostly one person operations though, and the only real barriers to rolling your own is finding cheap media supplies, having access to a decent colour printer, scraping together a little cash up front to pay for materials and finding someone with a game to publish - after that it's just about diligence, hard work, time and enthusiasm. I remember to saw somewhere that they normally produce around 60/80 copies. And they sold each copy for less than 10?. RGCD's cartridges shift perhaps a couple of hundred units for something that received a bit of hype (probably about the same numbers that GR8 move of each product i'd have guessed?) and most titles are "slow burners" too so every now and then i get a few quid for a couple of Edge Grinder sales even this long after release.
