PCSX2 black screen issue

Ok I tried their forums but it seems nobody seems to know anything about this issue :| so I return to reliable Atari Age and hope someone has a little advice.

Black Screen issue:

I have all the BIOS files from my PS2 and even tried renaming them to .rom1, rom2 etc. The issue is a black screen when running an ISO of a game. One thing I noticed is when I click on Config-->Plugin\Bios selector I see the following error appear on the console window:

Path: D:\Library\Video Games\PS2\Emulation\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll

File is not a valid dynamic library.

Some kinda plugin failure: D:\Library\Video Games\PS2\Emulation\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll

The plugin and DLL file of course are there as this is the default install.

I have installed PCSX2 on my D: drive to avoid rights issues and have also tried running it as admin. I read somewhere about compatability issues with Intel chips and Graphics cards using GSDX but pretty sure my i7 and Nvidia 580 are ok. I switched to SSE2, SSE41 and SSSE3 and same issue. Now I'm thinking it may be the BIOS files.

I run Win7 64. Here's a copy of the log:

I have it working under the same OS. Assuming I remember, I'll check this out later & see what I'm doing that you aren't.

edit: I have similar hardware too (Q6600 & GTX 9800), so I doubt hardware is the issue. I do know that my copy of the emulator is several months older than yours, so maybe try one from June or so in the meantime?

What game is it?

Cool...I still haven't gotten it to work but at least I can reference your config. I'll be doing another report today when I get home and compare it more closely.

One thing I did notice is that even though I'm running PCSX2 0.9.8.r4600 like you are....the binding for GS is different for me. Another thing is that with version 0.9.8 I no longer get any errors in the console. Everything looks ok but when running a game its still just a black screen. I tried two different games that were on the compatability list (ripped the CD's using IMGburn). Anyway I'll play around with the settings again tonight and maybe redump those BIOS files as a last resort.

Yeah, I don't think my CPU supports SSE4 instructions. SSE2 seems like a good fallback.

I also have so many BIOS files in my BIOS directory, I don't know which corresponds to which in the in-app menu. I'd send you my working files, but I can't identify 'em. I could send the whole 12MB mess if you think it might help.

edit: I guess I could zip the entire directory, since it seems self-contained.

Cool I'll try them if you can zip them up or somehing. However you want. When I dumped mine (I have a modded slim PS2) it didnt show any errors during the dump but I saw the files didnt exactly match what it says on their FAQ. Like they say ROM1, ROM2 and I had ROM0 and ROM1. Plus there some others in there I have no idea what they are. Possibly a file for the PS2CD drive and another for something else. I just put them all in the BIOS folder and it liked it.
