cimerians
Ok...its seems Sony is going apenuts with free downloads on plus this past summer. I basically dont have room anymore for stuff and I have a 500GB drive. Anyone recommend a 1TB drive? I'm looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053YLTBC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&tag=atariage&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0053YLTBC&linkCode=as2 Also I have a hybrid on a laptop and was wondering about SSD's. I saw this article and it CAN improve some games. Still on the fence of sticking an expensive SSD in there. A hybrid may work though. http://kotaku.com/58...ster-buy-an-ssd The cool info on SSD's: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-can-ssd-upgrades-boost-ps3-performance Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/201545-1tb-hard-drives-and-ssds-in-a-ps3/ Share on other sites
godslabrat
I'm a huge fan of SSDs, but if your problem is that you're running out of space, that may be the wrong way to go. Yeah I'm sticking with the terabyte and I'm done. I realized the benefits dont really add up to warrant the money. I'm still waiting to get an SSD on my PC when they finally get to an affordable price point. Wntermute
Most 1TB 2.5" drives are too tall at 12mm (and NewEgg has a 2TB one listed but it's 15mm tall).. 9.5mm drives fit the best. I keep thinking about taking a SATA extension cable and cobbling together an external enclosure to get over 1TB. Not sure how the file system would handle it tho. Sony uses a funky proprietary file system for PS3. HammR25
Newegg has a 1 TB SSD drive for a pretty good price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227797 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/201545-1tb-hard-drives-and-ssds-in-a-ps3/#findComment-2581301 Share on other sites

He's got some pics too: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=14877 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/201545-1tb-hard-drives-and-ssds-in-a-ps3/#findComment-2592776 Share on other sites
