As shakespear said (when playing DK) "to Hammer or not to Hammer" how about this for frustrating... just got to the last screen on level 5 and blew 2 men... scored exactly the same as I had before 171,900 bleeding firebugs outrun you esp on the ladders :-o There's a Donkey Kong killscreen coming up! One more small extension so the round ends 10pm (BST) Tues 5th - Scalak where are you ?!!! GW got to base 3 and fell off after setting the final bomb so didn't get the (3rd in a row) bonus fruit to unlock the 'secret 4th base' ... it's the only real incentive to play on apart from the diminishing time factor... (you can also unlock this by doing levels 4,5,6 and gettting the extra fruit etc... If not you can have until the end of the week to post Finally beat Lv3 on Gorilla, very tight for time, was just getting into the Lv4 'secret base' when I forgot to avoid a soldier... if anyone beats this screen you can consider the game beaten and I'll award you a bonus point or two. Might squeeze in one more DK session tomorrow evening. Just cleared level 4 without losing a man (81K) but then lost it! Patience is key on the Cement Factory... say it with me... I take it you now have joystick control (and not on the emulator)! 3rd screen is very tight for time so here are some last minute Gorilla Warfare Base 3 hints: Get the fruit at the start and if you're quick you can nail the top right slot. Bottom left is not to hard - shortcut by dropping through the middle gap. The middle right one can be left until last as you have to get the detonator drop off downwards on the little platforms - but you can place it from underneath if you're going down to the bottom right one. To get the top left one and place the detonator you need to lure the guard away and time your dash!!! Learn to use fire and l/r to diagonally cut corners when climbing. I have been trying to improve on my DK score but generally have been making a mistake on one of the early rounds being greedy trying to rack up points. At which point I usually reset I'm done now am hardly making level 5 let alone any progress - I've started restarting too when dieing on level 2 but think it is a bad tactic as it's only 1 man that usually does so well... might have restarted on the best ever go Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's fine, you have the win! I just started on level 4 to test the bug but ran out of time! Did you miss out the bonus fruit along the top (in the tree branch after each bomb) and this gave you enough time to climb across for the 'bonus' fruit? I can win a round ocassionally Thanks for playing everyone, special thanks to those who had a crack at Gorilla Warfare - not the best game but steady and a bit of strategy to it... Scalak took the win and found a bug(!) but as the time is tight I guess this can be a feature as you will lose a life if you get too greedy; and you've got to unlock the 4th base to even get this far. If anyone want's to play the 4th screen press SHIFT and HELP on the title screen to jump straight to it. No I didn't enjoy it, I lost too many lives on the pie factory! And in playing these rules I missed the chance to have a crack at the 195k record, not that I played well enough to beat it any way.
