saltwaterpizza
Hi everyone! I'm new to these boards so please, play nice and don't chew with your mouth open. :-) At any rate, I've just bought a new computer, and I'd like to relive some old memories via Atari emulation. For those of you who've been involved in the emulation scene for awhile and know the quirks/problems/features of the various emulators, which emulators do you think are the best for each of these systems: Atari 2600, Atari 800, Atari 5200, Atari 7800? If it helps, here are the specs for my machine: Windows XP 2.4 Ghz 512 MB RAM SoundBlaster Audigy I plan on trying out most of the emulators anyway, but I wanted to hear from the people who probably know better than anyone else which emulators are the best. Thanks, in advance, for your help! Viva Atari! Scott
oesii
Just personal opinions, running on my Windows 2000 machine ( I have a bunch more emulators on my Macs ) 2600 - Cyberstella and Pcaewin for ease of use. Z26 for quick compatability updates on the newer hacks, etc. Because it's DOS based its a little goofy on Windows2000, uses the pc speaker, etc. Atari 800+5200 - both use the same emulator, Atari800WinPlus 3.1 Atari 7800 - MESS, the latest .6x version do a great job on most 7800 games. Dan Iacovelli
For 2600: I agree that eithe pcaewin2.6 or z26 are good My guess for the others will prob be mess because thats prob the most used emu for the other systems. I don't know about the 800 though. Dan Iacovelli

I use Z26 and sometimes Stella I would like to see an Atari 2600 Emulator that supports PAL Emulation (Fake TV Mode). Playing Atari 2600 Games on a High-Resolution Monitor. Well, they're way too sharp.
