moulinaie
Hi, I had a bad experience with an adapter! As I often plug in and out the CF card of the NanoPEB, I said to myself that a short flat cable was a good solution between the unit and the CF adapter: this way, no force is applied on the connectors. So I purchased a flat cable, IDE male/female on Ebay. I received it this morning. First bad thing: the male pins are too short to hold firmly when inserted into the female part. Second thing: when switched on, the TI screamed continuously and suddenly some smoke came from the adapter! One line was burning !!! I switched it OFF rapidely. Fortunately the NanoPEB is OK, no damage. So take care...! I wrote to the seller (not in Hong Kong, he lives in Germany). Guillaume.
Keatah
I thought this had something to do with bongs.

CantStopClicking
I thought this had something to do with bongs. Apparently not, but after that experience one might consider it!

Keatah
If you suspect it's a defect I could offer to do a report for you. No cost.

Sorry but I don't understand your offer (I'm not english), what do you mean by "do a report for you" ? Thanks a lot. Guillaume;
Keatah
Look at cable. See if it is bad wiring. See if wrong wire.
moulinaie
Look at cable. See if it is bad wiring. See if wrong wire. That's kind, thanks. I'll try to do it myself with the ohm-meter: 1) verify that no pin is connected to another 2) verify that each male pin is wired to one female pin I think that it is enough for such a cable? What do you think about it? Guillaume.

ISTR that depending on the connectors and which way round they're fitted, it is possible for this to happen. Personally I'd put the NanoPEB on the table next to the cable, then you can see how the NanoPEB connectors mate, and check the corresponding pins on the cable, and make sure that nothing is reversed. You didn't flip the NanoPEB over when fitting it to the cable I assume? I not sure if the connectors are keyed so it would be possible to fit it the wrong way round. Manic1975
You need shorter cable. If you use longer cable with CF7+ then it starts to fail to boot. I have similar problem when I connect longer IDE cable between TI 99/4a and CF7+ Edited October 26, 2012 by Manic1975
