Donkey Kong XM Pre-order and demo

Recommended Posts

It would be very tough to top the Colecovision version Eduardo did. It's top notch.

I agree, but I would think that a 7800 version would be superior to a coleco version due to system constraints... minus sound quality

Atari 7800 better sound and better graphics with the xm. Stock way better graphics than the coleco...We are not comparing the 5200 here.

I never mentioned the 5200. 7800 vs colecovision system only. 7800 with no xm vs coleco with no sgm. I guess i was talking more of the donkey kong arcade that will use the sgm but mainly for sound. Take for instance... pac man collection for the colecovision vs any pac man for the 7800... Edited by AtariBrian

Killjoy ;-)

Ed's attention to detail is pretty astounding. He was working on XM at one point, but guess he felt like he was cheating on Colecovision. ;-)

Doesn't Colecovision PAC-man collection require the expanded memory module or something?

PAC man collection for the 7800 is flat out fantastic. I believ it has more game modes that coleco as well.

I believe the board is custom, but the Colecovision pacman runs on stock hardware. Both the CV and 7800 versions are excellent.

I'll try with prosystem later...

I got stuck in the Atari logo when trying to use my old xmess Debian version...

I'm almost sure the problem is only with this old emulator but, just in case, here goes my output:

I would suggest you stick with prosystem for this game. It's the only emulator that will get the sound working.
