Cobra Kai
If I play a 1st gen 360 game, that's pretty much retro-gaming on a current gen console, considering this ancient relic is pushing 8 years old. S1500
So are we now experiencing longer lifetimes for current-gen consoles where it isn't obsolete after 4 years for the next bigger and better thing? I'm okay with that. We don't need another Sega fiasco where new hardware was released too often in a short timespan.
Atariboy
He doesn't even have his timeline correct. The 360 was released in late 2005. So unless I missed a year overnight, we're approaching its 7th birthday.
SoulBlazer
People forget how long the 2600, the NES, the SNES, the Genesis, the Playstation, and Playstation 2 lasted also. All of those systems were supported for around 8-11 years.

+wood_jl
I don't think the PS2, Xbox (1), or Gamecube are considered "classic" yet, so 360 will have to wait in the queue. Besides, there are still tons of new games coming out for it, and they look as modern as the most modern system [about to be] released, the Wii U. iswitt
I think the Odyssey should be moved to the Modern Gaming forum.

MagitekAngel
While we are on the subject, Wii U should go straight to classic gaming. It's just a 360 with extra RAM, after all. Better yet, pre-empt next year's E3 and put the PS4 and next Xbox in Classic Gaming as well. Consoles are history, all hail phones, tablets, and 99-cent, five minute games. SSG
I don't think a console should be considerd "Retro" untill its discontinued by its company.
