I didn't want to ship it TOO soon, because I didn't want it getting onsite in Nov. tempting the recipient. That made me wonder, do most people open the package the day they get it, or do they save it under the tree till Xmas!? When I participated in the past, I think I usually waited. Last year, most people opened theirs right away. For one thing, it helps assure the sender that the item was delivered in the first place. I just purchased the last "thing" I need to include in my box, but I won't be able to ship for about another week. I'll still have mine out way before the deadline, though! Wow if that isn't an excuse to try and convince yourself you have self control but it's necessary to ignore it so the sender has peace of mind I don't know what is!!! I should think a simple "I got my package today" posted right here in this thread would let Santa know the item was delivered!! Just waiting on the item that I ordered to get here and then I'll ship my package out. As for my gift, yeah, I open it as soon as I get it....it's too tempting not to! Finally, yes, Amazon does rock.
