adamb2k5
I have a Harmony cart on order but I don't have anything to put it in yet. Which system do you recommend I try and find for it?
RickR
Both! If you have to choose one, I'd take the 2600. True that the 7800 plays 2600 games, but I always miss the easy access to switches when playing 2600 games on the 7800. But that's just me. snstay
I like the 7800 but the colors are more dull and not as crisp as the 2600. Plus the harmony was made for the 2600 and until we get a 7800 version ill stick with the 2600. scott
LidLikesIntellivision
To me the 7800 is better but I'm really enjoying 7800 games. The 7800 has some minor problems with just a few 2600 games. Someone here may point you the games that won't work properly on the 7800. It's better to pick an early version of the 7800 to get even fewer incompatible carts. This is because later versions won't run supercharger games and maybe 5 original Atari 2600 games. I'm in Brazil and I find some clone cartridges that don't fit in the 7800. Known Atari 7800 issues with Atari 2600 games/hardware: Atarivox doesn't fit, you'll need to open it (but there's no Atarivox available now) It hasn't a b/w to color swicth. A few games use it like starmaster of Activision. FYI, I do have an Atari 2600 (although dying...) and an expasion module for Colecovision to play Atari 2600 games. So maybe that's why I'm not that concerned with 7800 issues...
+Nathan Strum
I own both. The 2600 is hooked up to my TV. The 7800 is in a box in the closet. The library just isn't big enough to keep me interested very long, and I prefer the form factor (and output) of the 2600.
adamb2k5
Thanks for the input all. I'm going to buy a 2600.
