+therealbountybob Posted December 23, 2012 Share Posted December 23, 2012 Christmas If you want to show your Atari some love over Christmas (and let's face it who doesn't?!) then there's really only one game to play and it's Special Delivery (yes we've played if before). Scoring will be 1pt per player. If you get anyone else to play (friends, family, pet chihuahua) then you'll bag a bonus of 2pts per extra player. If you want any bonus points then play any of the other Games with a Christmas Theme (warning these are not so good!) the 'Merry Christmas' pinball might be the best option! If anyone has a working copy of 'Santa's Revenge' from Atari User please post a disk/ATR Catch-Up You can play any two games you have missed, or improve scores on any two games from this season. Post scores here please. Champions_2002 Posted December 25, 2012 Share Posted December 25, 2012 (edited) Santa's Grotto It is Christmas Eve and the evil Baron Monhausen has threated to destroy the spirit of Christmas. His plan is to manufacture boring Christmas presents then, on Christmas Eve, he will follow Santa's sleigh and swp his boring presents for all the good presents that Santa gives. On Christmas Day the world will be filled with moans of disappointed children and this will extinguish the spirit of Christmas forever. Santa's gnome spy Gerald hears of this plan and locates the site of Baron Monhausen's secret factory somewhere in the Arctic circle and Santa sets out on his sledge to rescue Christmas. THE GAME The game is controlled with a joystick plugged into port 1. There are 9 levels. If Santa finishes level 9 then he has neutralised the Baron's factory and Christmas is saved. In Level 1 you must guide Santa's sledge and land safely. Blocking your way is the Baron's giant snowball defence system. At the bottom of the screen is Santa's "Jolly' meter. Each time a snowball is touched the Jolly meter shortens. If the Jolly meter is empty then Santa is to sad to carry on and the game is over. On Levels 2 and 3 Santa must find his way to the exit at the bottom of the screen. If he touches a boring Christmas present then the Jolly meter goes down. The boring presents are underwear, socks and aftershave. The joystick controls Santa and joystick up causes him to jump. The Fire Button fires an ice missile from Santa's ice gun. Hitting the boring computer symbol or a Jason Donovan record scores points. Finishing a level gives bonus points. The quicker it takes to reach the exit the more bonus points you get. Hang around too long and points will be deducted from your score! On Levels 6 to 9 avoid certain sections of the floor as they will reduce the Jolly meter. Special Delivery score for Travlar (now age 6) - looks like it doesn't kill the player off for abusing Santa on target 5... but was to hard for him to do the Chimney sections! You can lose all your health on the first screen (the one where you fly around) and then play it all the way to the end without dying. This is just to show what the end of the game looks like. I really enjoyed Law Keeper too, on the Chomp level you can mash the teeth (horizontally?) and then it's not too hard It was level 6 'Sheriff Level' I got stuck on - couldn't work out what to do (starting on Advanced starts on Lv6) so if anyone figures it out please post! Santa's Revenge - At least you saved Christmas (even though you cheated!) VOTE OPEN FOR THE FINAL ROUND OF SEASON 9 OK I played Santa's Revenge - what the heck!!! Santa has a gun and the game is crazy! got to the 2nd screen but made Santa Sad again (mainly as he kept getting his but kicked up to the last platform... ok will have just 1 more go ...
