Mind Master
I'd like to get into programming a VCS (2600) game. I know nothing about it but am willing to learn. Where does one begin?
Cybergoth
Hi there! I'd like to get into programming a VCS (2600) game. I know nothing about it but am willing to learn. Where does one begin? Uhm... Kirk? Is this a test? Greetings, Manuel
Snider-man
Here's a link to a message I posted a long time ago to someone who was interested in making games. Bunch of links for you to check out to send you on your way. (Excuse the brusqeness of the message. The initial poster was CONSTANTLY begging the programmers to make games just for him. When he finally decided to "make his own games," he got pissy when no one leaped to his assistance. This message was my response. However, there's a lot of good links in there.) http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...?t=8348&start=

Cybergoth
Hi Thomas! Uhm... Kirk? Is this a test? Must be. I really wonder, where the first google link for "2600 programming 101" would bring you to... Greetings, Manuel

shep
Everyone wants to program an Atari 2600 game. You'd think it would be as simple as something like HTML, programming text messages in C, or making forms in Basic, but Ive dabbled in a little 6502, and there is a lot more to it than just learning how to to program, then shelling out cool homebrew games that make Atari collectors and enthusiats purchase them. It will take a lot more time, effort, and patience than you are probably prepared for or are willing to take.
Thomas Jentzsch
It will take a lot more time, effort, and patience than you are probably prepared for or are willing to take. Yup, that's the main problem! And how about you?
