Best idea for wall mounted collection?

Hi - New to this site and glad I found it! I'm interested in collecting as many of the 862 cartridge titles listed on this site as possible, and want to mount them all on my wall. Wall space is not an issue, but I would like to have this many "slots" or placeholders mounted right away so that I have a predesignated place to put these when they come in. (I am going to create labels for each to make it really easy to see what I'm missing).

I don't want to stack these at all, just want independent slots for each cartridge. I've come across the old school "cartridge library" solutions which hold maybe 8 or so, but I'm wondering if there are any other larger options. (besides building the whole thing myself). I don't intend to store the boxes at all, just the cartridges.

Thanks!

I know this isn't what you had in mind, but I want to get extras of pre-crash Atari cartridge boxes and mount them to the wall with construction cement or something like that, so that they're continuous from floor to ceiling and left to right on one wall. I just love that old artwork.

But I'd feel bad about ruining so many boxes. To do it right, I'd have to protect them from UV, mount them in a way that doesn't cause any damage to them or the wall, etc. Plus I'd have to get duplicates of so many game boxes. So I keep putting it off.

But some day...

I love the Music Mates, but my problem with them is one, exposure of game labels to the elements (especially light), and they don't save that much space. The small space between carts will make your wall look ridiculous if you have enough games.

That's pretty sweet if you could mount them so the carts face out.

Actually, if you have the skill, you could probably put these at an angle which would face them out as well as enabling you to stack them closer together on the wall.

The old wooden cassette tape boxes look nice and mount easily. I have three wall-mounted, and each holds 100 cassettes. I have found though, that you cannot put VCS cartridges into adjacent tape slots due to their thickness, so one box only holds 50 Atari games.
