cimerians Posted February 28, 2013 Share Posted February 28, 2013 Go for it. I have two of them. One of course crapped out and they (Sony) sent me another unit years ago. Never had issues since. The second one I have was from a used game store (not Gamestop) and I have never had issues with that either. Keep those old boat anchors well ventilated and dust free and you should be OK. If you don't care about PS2 games....by all means get a slim. VW Posted February 28, 2013 Share Posted February 28, 2013 I have had terrible luck with the optical drive, the stock one died and I replaced it. Then the replacement stopped working but at least I was able to clean it and it still works now. Many other people I know have had similar problems so I would not recommend this model.
