Shift838
I am thinking about throwing up a new telnet bbs only to support the TI and Geneve 9640. Just looking for input from the community of everyones thoughts. It would be in Texas.
+Vorticon
The only TI related telnet based BBS currently in existence is the Heatwave bbs (heatwavebbs.com). Very nicely done with superb ASCII graphics and running on a Geneve. As of this writing, The Hidden Reef BBS which is the only other TI BBS remains exclusively dial-up. Both of these BBS'ses are based on the S&T BBS software by Tim Tesh. Are you planning on running this on modern hardware?
Shift838
i am debating whether to throw it up on a Geneve using Tim's bbs software or using modern hardware and telnet custom bbs software to get both 80 column and 40 column menu sets. and of course have the hard drive space. Hard drives are much cheaper on the newer systems to allow for both TI/Geneve File uploads, message bases, etc.. I have one bbs that I have been experimenting with that a user can actually telnet from my bbs to the Heatwave via a portal. Lots of options. But there is the time involved on getting one setup with the custom menus, message bases, file areas, door games, etc..
