Games that should have been made for Intellivision

Any kind of fighting game, there is a HUUUUUGE gap. But please with a special controller layout. I made a pic of the controller (I am no artist ;)). If you hold it this way, you have a pretty normal gamepad, awesome for fighting games (and also some Jump and Runs could use this layout, because its complicated if the direction-disk is under the buttons). Just use the buttons 3 and 6 for actions, maybe use some other buttons for special moves or stuff like that. Important: Whats normally "up" in games must be "right" in this case, because you hold the controller in a different way.

I think its really doable. Maybe a game like Street Fighter, or a brawler like Final Fight. I really miss a game like that :(

And because I cant say it often enough: A new racing game! ;)

I love your collection! great job, I am jealous of your pretty boxed games. outstanding! and yes, a new racing game is in order for us.

Its a Tower Defense Shooter. It hast many elements of Tower Defense games.

Funny, when tower defense games came up Worm Whomper also immediately came to mind. It's the large number of mobs moving in a fixed path that triggered the reaction. The mobile farmer does violate one of the main aspects of the genre, but the game could prove as a starting point maybe in terms of some programming techniques.

An Intellivision programming expert could clarify, but I think they pulled some neat tricks with background tiles to accomplish the large number of moving worms, and a similar approach could make for a great tower defense game. Especially with the higher capacity cart being made today. Back then, it was an important business decision to allow for more ROM space due to cost. Now? Happily, not so much.

The traditional automated gun approach was what I originally was thinking of. Worm Whomper is definitely a shooter, but you are shooting wave after intensifying wave of baddies. Maybe THAT is why I love Worm Whomper  It takes the best elements of the shooter and adds the increasing onslaught....although, as stated before, that's essentially Space Invaders/Space Armada.

An automated gun tower defense game would be cool.
