+GoldenWheels
I think Capcom sent out gold NES cartridge promo's to magazine\game sites: http://www.gameinfor...-ducktales.aspx Jeez I'd be more willing to pay an exorbitant amount for that than I am a reasonable amount for the download. That cart is awesome.
Tr3vor
Aren't they putting out a limited edition "physical copy" that only has a box that contains a download code. I've heard this a while back. But I'm not a fan of the gameplay in this game, so I probably won't buy it, although that's a pretty cool looking graphical update for sure. goldenegg
I'm shocked no one's talking about this game. I bought it today and am really enjoying it so far. The gameplay is exactly like the original. Graphics are great and look just like the cartoon. There's a lot that's new, but they've kept just enough from the original to make fans of the original happy. There are 2 things which do slightly bother me. The first is that the cutscenes definitely slow down the game. The second is that the remastered music can be a little much at times. Looking forward to playing it through over the next day or two. Cybergoth
I managed to download and install it onto the PS3 last night, but it refused to launch before midnight. I'm not sure if we get/got any pre-order bonus in Germany other than a 10% reduced price. Is the Duck Tales Theme a separate free download or should it come with the pre-ordered game already? EDIT: Just played through the remastered Amazonas stage - they did a pretty good job on that one!
SoulBlazer
I assume the 360 has it also? I'll have to check this out. IMHO, Ducktales for the NES was a great and challenging underated game adults could enjoy also.
+Cafeman
Trivia: I never played the NES original (never owned the system), did watch the orig cartoon, but anyway I recently learned that Allan Young (Wilbur Post on 60's TV show "Mr. Ed" ) became the voice actor for Scrooge McDuck - and he's still doing it. Jess Ragan
He's in his nineties. It could be the last time. The actor isn't as, ahem, animated as he used to be, but there's a certain charm in Scrooge winding down in his old age. Whenever Launchpad does something stupid (which is often) he responds not with pointed aggravation, but with a weary, knowing shrug of the shoulder. "Yeah he's dumb, but whaddaya gonna do?" I kind of like that. It gives you the impression that Alan Young is looking back wistfully at his career and is happy to relive an especially memorable chapter of it. Atariboy
Hopefully this draws enough attention to get Disney to release the final 25 episodes on DVD. When things start winding down for the 360 in a few years, I hope Capcom releases another XBLA compilation disc or two. Would be a shame for games like this to be relegated to digital downloads. goldenegg
I had some free time tonight, so I played through the game to the end. It was definitely a lot of fun and had a lot of things thrown in for fans of the original. Will I play it as often as I play the original? Probably not. I think I'll be sticking with the original for my Duck Tales fix and play this version infrequently for a little change. The one thing I'm really not loving is the music. To me, it's really lacking the charm of the original. Half the time I found myself not even paying attention to the music, as it would rarely catch my attention. I assume the 360 has it also? I'll have to check this out. I believe the 360 version doesn't come out until Sept 11th. EDIT: Just noticed there's an option for the original 8-bit music! SWEET!! Atariboy
There's a cheat that enables it before you finish it if you're interested. When the Capcom logo appears, enter Down, R, Up, L, Y, and B or their Sony/Microsoft equivalents and you will hear a chime. Seems a shame that the original NES games weren't included as secrets. goldenegg
An unlock for finishing I assume, as I don't see that yet. Interesting. I didn't check the options menu until after finishing the game. I was hoping for a way to disable cinematics. Seems a shame that the original NES games weren't included as secrets. That would have been awesome! Maybe it is there, after you buy everything in the gallery (one can hope) Edited August 15, 2013 by goldenegg

Atariboy
If there are any fans of the cartoon, it appears like it very well might be finished shortly. They left a lot of their tv cartoons unfinished on DVD back in 2008 and several were just one release away from being finished. But via the Disney Movie Club, they've now finished TaleSpin and released another volume of Gargoyles. And the first two releases of The Weekenders, a cartoon from a decade ago apparently, have came out and Goof Troop went from 3 episodes on DVD to having 2/3's of its run out this spring. So the final releases for things like DuckTales (Missing 25 of its 100 episodes on DVD) and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers seem all but assured now that they've restarted releasing their tv cartoon portfolio. Was starting to think Disney would never finish TaleSpin, DuckTales, and Rescue Rangers. Edited August 16, 2013 by Atariboy
Cybergoth
Meanwhile I'm down to the last 4 trophies. Right now I'm still finishing the two collect-a-thons ($10M and Art Gallery), but once that is settled all I still need to do are the playthroughs on Hard and Extreme

Austin
I wish they would add an easier option to quick-skip through the cut-scenes (like hitting start or something). Or, adding a mode that allows you to play the game without any cut-scenes. That would be even better. Other than that I think the remake is pretty good (playing on Wii U). The visuals are so-so, but the gameplay is about on-par with the original. There's just way too many cut-scenes. Literally every other minute or two you will run into one.

Or, adding a mode that allows you to play the game without any cut-scenes. That would be even better. That's exactly what I was mentioning a few posts up. The cutscenes are why I don't see myself playing this version very often. I've played through a few times now. Even though you can manually skip the cutscenes when they come up, doing so is a nuisance. I'm back to playing the NES version now.

Oh, but that's a "stupid complaint," at least according to the schlubs on another video game forum I visit. I just wonder why it's so "stupid" to expect to skip cut scenes by pressing a single button, which nearly every other video game allows you to do. Atariboy
The background tracks from the cartoon fit this game well. I want to track down the music from Duck Tales 2 from the NES now to have another option. I don't care for the remade NES songs here. SoulBlazer
Got a ways to wait until this hits the 360, but I'm looking forward to it... Same. Sep 11th is a while aways. Wonder how much it will go? Points are going away, so probably about $5.
Karyyk
I'm guessing it'll fall in line with the PSN and Wii U versions, so $15 (or 1200 points if they're still around by then).
