Blazing Lazers
Hey all, I wanted to know what the current going rate is for a very good condition CIB copy of Star Castle for the Vectrex, and for a good condition CIB Light Pen. Ebay is not what I have found to be a reliable indicator. I've been giving some serious thought lately to going the multicart route for the Vectrex to save on swapping out overlays and carts, and might be selling off a large part of my Vectrex collection. Another reason I'm considering getting out is that the demand for Vectrex stuff seems to be red-hot right now, and it looks to be very costly to be able to finish off the collection (and that's without considering Mr. Boston, which I will need to have for a complete set). I've also been able to get a lot of my Vectrex collection for good prices, and the temptation to reinvest into other areas of collecting is very strong indeed. Any thoughts on prices for the above two items are welcome, as are thoughts on the Vectrex market and the chances of being able to finish off the collection. Below is what I do have, all of it CIB, most of it in very good shape: Time Pilot (I'll never sell this one) Web Wars Space Wars Bedlam Scramble Spinball Rip Off Blitz Cosmic Chasm Armor Attack Solar Quest Star Castle (very very good shape) Starhawk Pole Position (not in the best shape) regular Clean Sweep Light Pen w/ Art Master A boxed spare controller I still need, CIB of course: Star Trek Hyperchase Heads-Up! Animaction Fortress of Narzod Polar Rescue Melody Master 3D Narrow Escape 3D Crazy Coaster 3D Imager w/ 3D Minestorm Minestorm II Carrying case dust cover Mr. Boston a minicade
Manoau2002
From what I have personally found ebay is about the only way (online anyway) to judge the price of the vectrex gaming market. Atari2600.com does sell a few loose vectrex games as well. I recently purchased a vectrex multicart from http://vectrex.playntradeonline.com/multicart.html This multicart features 72 games so I think its a better deal than the 32 game model sold here http://www.freewebstore.org/Vectrom/Vectrex/cat1908906_1734944.aspx Although currently out of stock this vectrex multicart http://www.vectrex.biz/ seems like the best. I have spoken to the site owner and he says that he may make another batch in the next couple months.
atarilovesyou
...what could one expect to pay for a Vectrex system in excellent condition? I've been looking at em' on ebay for literally 15 years, lol! Is it reasonable to think I'll ever find a good one?
Manoau2002
...what could one expect to pay for a Vectrex system in excellent condition? I've been looking at em' on ebay for literally 15 years, lol! Is it reasonable to think I'll ever find a good one? I picked up mine at a local gaming store for 110.00 dollars. The box is in bad shape and it has a minor sound issue. The same game store told me they sold a mint condition one a while back for 180.00. I jumped at purchasing it at 110.00 because finding one at all where I live is not easy. If you live or are traveling to a bigger center I would suggest looking locally. Vectrex systems have sold recently for as low as 65.00 dollars on ebay. There is a brand new in box vectrex for sale right now here (700.00 dollars) http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D140946305162
