+FujiSkunk
Woohoo, just put in for Friday off and bought my weekend pass. Hey Albert, let us know what time you'd like any helpers to be there Friday morning.
+SpiceWare
Nice! I don't know yet if I'll show up Friday. If I do it'll be later in the evening.
Robot2600
I will definitely be attending. Looking forward to meeting some AA people and playing some of the games I've always wanted to, but never could: original arcade Missile Commands and Berzerk. Should be a blast!

Rex Dart
I was really (really really) looking forward to finally going this year, but finances aren't gonna allow it. Take plenty of pics for me!
+FujiSkunk
I'll be there pretty much all day tomorrow (Friday). Saturday late afternoon also, though I'm not sure if I'll make SpiceWare's presentation, as Saturdays tend to get busy for me. It's nice to be wanted by people, but that makes it hard to get away! Albert, I can still come earlier tomorrow if you need extra hands. Either way, I look forward to meeting you and whoever else I have the pleasure of bumping into! Albert
I was able to get everything setup today, but it sure was a long day! The show doesn't open until noon tomorrow, so I can sleep in a bit. Just finished working on the presentation that will be running on the 65" displays. Here are some photos towards the end of the setup.. Time for some sleep! ..Al

+Nathan Strum
I'm assuming the Defender cart is just there to test the system. Would strongly recommend gamepads for SF2 though (Starplex controllers would also work nicely).
+FujiSkunk
I has pictures! I plan on giving these better captions and descriptions, but I wanted to throw them up quickly so people could see the good time had by all... and to show off my best Addams Family score EVAR! Big thanks to Albert for almost single-handedly bringing in the home console fun. I don't know how he does it, especially setting all that up by himself!

Albert left cartridges all around the consoles, so people were free to play whatever games they wanted. You'll notice here the guys were playing Kaboom on the console supposedly reserved for Space Rocks. Sometimes the classics just won't be denied! +SpiceWare
Thanks! I normally do a video walk thru, but was busy with family and friends this year. I like this one. I was there from 12-4 on Saturday. Every time I walked by the consoles I somebody playing one of my games. At one point I saw someone on level 9 of Stay Frosty 2.

Great game!

+FujiSkunk
Albert, I need to learn your trick for decent pics without a flash. Or maybe I should RTFM on my camera and figure out what all the manual controls do...
Albert
Albert, I need to learn your trick for decent pics without a flash. Or maybe I should RTFM on my camera and figure out what all the manual controls do... I did use the flash for a small number of shots, mainly in the darker room where most of the arcade games and pins were located. You can usually spot those as the background tends to be darker, or the foreground is especially well lit. Normally I would use a tripod when not using a flash, especially in a darker room for longer exposure shots. I didn't adjust any of the photos afterward--I could have made improvements to many of them, but not really worth the time. ..Al
Robot2600
For those that couldn't go it was as amazing as it looked. Atari Age had the biggest booth, and there were tons of awesome AA banners at the expo. Albert did a kickass job with the booth, and it was packed with players needing to give their legs a break after hours of standing. I even discovered this great Smurfs platformer (which randomly generates boards) from the display, for which I am very thankful. I also set the high score for the day on the Apple II which was running Galaxian all day. A small victory to be sure, but considering the caliber of players that were present I'll take it as a victory. All of the Homebrews had people playing them pretty much all day, and the boxes and info sheets were definitely professional quality. My girlfriend loved playing the 5200s. Her favorite Atari game is Adventure and she was pumped to find Adventure II! She beat it twice xD We had a blast, thanks again Albert (and anyone who helped) you did a kickass job! I plan on coming back next year, and every year after that until the end of time. I'm gonna write a longer piece bout the entire experience this week. It was my first gaming expo and it was more fun than pretty much anything else in the world.
Gabriel
I really wanted to attend. I had the days off, but I couldn't get the transportation end lined up. I sour-graped it by saying that there probably would not have been enough there to keep me entertained all day. But seeing those pictures, I could have hung out for hours. That Space Encounters cab looks so lonely. I would have been more than happy to keep it company. Was there a Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator there? What was running on the 5200s? +SpiceWare
At one point I saw someone on level 9 of Stay Frosty 2. Mistyped that, the person I saw was on level 10, not 9. Might have been FujiSkunk, depends on when he was there. I was there from 12-4, and the person I saw was after my presentation so it was sometime between 2-4.
