Osmeroid
I guess this one is directed more at the musically inclined but has anyone considered adding the arcade soundtrack (a Jean-Michelle Jarre track as I recall) to Pengo? Admittedly I know very little about sound generation, so the complexities of doing this would be lost on me! Just wondered if this was a possibility on the 2600. NE146
Which tune are you thinking of? ..Since there's 2 soundtracks to Pengo depending on where you lived Personally I liked the "popcorn" music which I also think is the original version from the Japanese machine (which also had the "ice-clearing" before each stage which the U.S. version did not). Since you mentioned a Jean-Michell Jare track.. I assume you're talking about the U.S version music which is the same music that made it to the Atari 5200/400/800 version. But yeah that would be great to add in the music to the 2600 version. But also I think it would be just as awesome to CHANGE the 5200 version to have the Popcorn music as well (or is it just me that thinks that )
CPUWIZ
He is thinking of what you call popcorn, Jarre did a song that sounds just like that on the album Oxygen I believe.

That's the bugger! I was thinking that to create Pengo with fx & soundtrack closer to the arcade, would it be necessary to do a Pitfall II, i.e. dedicated soundchip?
