This just sold for $72.00 usd with 9 bids.

Hopefully, it went to AtariAge ti99er that will look through the disks and preserve anything useful.

Weird thing is that I never bid on it, but got this message from ebay in my email 2 hours before it sold.

You get that when you watch something.  It is a reminder that it is in your watchlist... you put it there for a reason, right?

hopefully, TI99 stuff never reaches the 'value' that anything with the word "Apple" on it gets these days on eBay!

Oh'well, banned from Instagram until April 10 for trying to sell a "firearm" after posting about the $2,500 eBay ad for the ti99 light pen.

I need to delete eBay, at times it costs me money, but today I think I lucked out, rare to find a fellow Canadian selling a PEB, and was able to score this baby that includes a flex cable interface and a 2mb Horizon 4000 and with shipping and taxes all for under $230 CAD.

I really don't need another PEB, I have 3 that I am not using, but the reason I not using them as they were missing their flex cable interface, so I was going to buy another firehose or the shift838 replacement, so I got that and a horizon Ramdisk at the same time.

I might decide to list my extra PEB's at some point with number of original ti99 cards, if anyone thinks there a market for them at a good price let me know, sadly being in Canada shipping to USA is super costly.

Part of the reason I will not participate in "social media."  I despise being treated like a child, being put into "time out" for doing a naughty.  The first time I get sat in a corner to think about what I have done, before being allowed to come back, hat-in-hand, to be a good boy is the last time I ever use a platform.  This is part of why I love AtariAge so much.  We do not need "community guidelines," temporary bans, or reach limiting.  Anyway, this could easily develop into a rant not suitable for this thread.

I got one better.  I've never posted to my Instagram account.  I just follow other accounts.  1 April I received notice my account is suspended, no ban, just suspended.  I thought it was an April fools.  But I just checked and I have until September to submit an appeal or lose my account.  Screw that.  I can get band information other ways.  Bye Bye Instagram.

i had issues with "following" certain accounts, so I decided on instagram and threads, to unfollow everyone, the only place i follow people now is on twitter, and only if they had follow me back first, and have posted something within the last 12 months, and is not a recently made new "bot" account.

I agree with @OLD CS1 - "social media" is waste of time. AtariAge is where it is, the only platform worth putting any time into is Twitter and even that is hard, but I only use it to post my life journey, i do not reply to other people's posts, as you just get dragged down into a never ending rabbit hole and filled with horrible drama and debate over stupid stuff, its like a never-ending massive bar fight with everyone forgetting the reason they are arguing in the first place.

As I see so many listings on eBay for which the posters appear to have done no research on value for pricing, I have to wonder if this is deliberate.  Do people perhaps think that by posting and maintaining listings which are five-fold, ten-fold, or more than the value of the item, they can artificially inflate the value?  Is this a long con?

OLD CS1, it’s crazy on eBay over the past few years. It’s a con for sure, prices are inflated super high… most items are untested - those items should be offered for LESS money, not more! Where do they come off with these crazy high values?? Like that $2,500 light gun??? Which by the way, the seller offered $200 off what a bargain at $2300?!?! Then they bring the price down to $1,999??? How about you start with the original offer price of $30.00 as a starting bid? Only then will you discover the ‘real’ value, or at least after a bidding war what someone is willing to pay!

I guess sellers will try all sorts of games to maximize the sale.  At least the light gun person is actively lowering the price until a fish bites.  I also got the "special offer" of $2k, for a limited time only, sent to other users so act fast, etc.  My hypothesis is that the "long con" sellers don't need to actually sell but are just out there fishing for a whale who has more money than patience.
