Byte Knight
Keep working on this! I was at PRGE and played the other DK - this one will be much better. I didn't like that you only could see part of the screen at one time, and the ramp level (1st level) had flat floors...
iesposta
Progress. Yeah! We have a code branch. Byte Knight started over with my source and not only created his own game "Money Man," but for fun made a DK "lite" version of Level 4! In just two weeks, gameplay has far surpassed what I had coded! Thanks again to everyone who has taken time to help us "basic" coders. What is new: Lots! Fireballs climb! Working Hammers! Scoring! Ending animation! I am so impressed and thankful we can share this work in progress with everyone: DK21.bas.bin Comments, criticisms, suggestions, etc. always welcome!

I just hope all these "alternate" DK demos don't discourage VCS from completing his Donkey kong project.

In fact, it's the assembly gurus that are gracious enough to make the tools batari BASIC peeps need to create

I don't think this will discourage VCS's project - his game takes a whole different approach to DK...
Jess Ragan
You did this with Batari BASIC?! Impressive! I was really happy with Donkey Kong VCS (the recent homebrew) but there's always room for another conversion.

The game just resets when I take a hit, and if you climb up the edge of a ladder you sometimes fall strait to the bottom when you reach the top edge. We haven't implemented lives yet - we still need to add a Mario death scene and we'll probably display lives in the "How High Can You Try" screen. I thought I had the ladder bug fixed - I'll take a look at it again.
Andromeda Stardust
It's still awesome. Does anything special happen yet when you walk across all girders or is that yet to be implemented? iesposta
Try this latest version. I may have uploaded a compiled version without using the latest bB! I know that both hammers work now. And yes there is an ending when you clear all rivets. DK21_2013_11_20.bas.bin

iesposta
Squashed some bugs. Added Hammer Music. Added Win Music. Can walk farther right before falling. You can no longer walk right off the bottom right. Be cool, try it out and tell us what you think!! Thanks. DK234b.bas.bin

+jetset
WOW! This is an incredible work of art! If there is a cart available, count me in! Only flaw I see is the difficulty doesn't seem to ramp up, but otherwise incredible!

iesposta
What ramps? The barrel stage looked flat to me last time I checked. This is the batari Basic DPC+ one. I changed the title of the thread because it was too obscure. You've confused it with the assembly VCS one. I don't want to have this thread shut down. I also don't want it easy for that big "N" company to find, remember, NO KEYWORDS, please.
dubxcube
Looking forward to this one! I can't play any of these roms because I only use a tablet. Can't wait for a cart. (Are there plans for a CIB version)

Andromeda Stardust
Ipad What, no Atari Emulators on Ipad? Ouya and Android have emulators but I doubt they'll work with DSP+ since they're not based on Stella's code base. http://harmony.atariage.com/ Buy one. You won't regret it.
