Maybe you said it before, but are you the developer of Kroz?

Yes. I started making the game in Oct. 2011 i think. I took a year off while getting personal matters in order. I started again just over a month ago when i realised the potential of JLP ram.

Good thing you didn't get lost in a cave ;-) Game looks sweet!

Looks good Willy. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this game may challenge D2K for your best seller to date. DOTC will also be a candidate for that title I suspect. It'll be interesting to see which one is the sales champion. :)

Paddle Party of course and next year Space Wars!

I am really excited to Kroz, because I dont have a idea how the gameplay feels. Looks nice and interessting. Is the release estimated for 2013?

What I'm curious about... 3D Realms has released the Kroz-series under GPL I understand, so Kroz games can be copied and sold by anyone as long as a copy of the GPL-text is included. So would your game automatically be GPL too as it uses the Kroz name?

And no "trademark of 3D Realms" is needed? The original makers of Kroz need not be mentioned, neither must the GPL license be mentioned on the title screen? Can works based on GPL license games even be copyrighted like fully original games despite being based on GPL material to some degree?

I have little knowledge of licenses like this, but I find it interesting as the original Kroz-games are free under GPL, yet this is a deriative work only based on the originals, so I'm not sure how this works legally. I find this stuff pretty complicated and would like to know...

The Lost Caves of Kroz is only sanctioned by the owners of Kroz. They do not own The Lost Caves of Kroz or carry its copyright.

Thanks for the reply. So you had basically asked the makers of the Kroz games for permisson, but your game still is its own entity legally.
