Rev
Ok, who is man enough to open up their flashback and show us the guts. Also open a controller so we can see if it is the clear mylar sheets with printed circuitry? +SoulBuster
Front of the Box Back Top Bottom Left Right Just after Opening Posed This is how the overlays were in the box. See the white strap, they are supposed to be in there. Overlays. Notice the minotaur one has wrinkles. It has a protective film on them that CAN be removed. What it looks like removed Another pic. I am not willing to open either the controller or the unit. didimo63
Does AT Games know some were leaked out? Yes, their boss checked out my LinkedIn profile . Seriously, they have some great products . 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3060869 Share on other sites

+JasonlikesINTV
Back 20140825_203620_Richtone(HDR).jpg It's so weird seeing Word Fun in an Intellivision Inc box. wolfy62
We found them in Porter Ranch and Thousand Oaks (Los Angeles area). As soon as the first person buys them, they sell you what is in your hand and immediately pull the rest. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3060897 Share on other sites

moonlight_mile
Some what were leaked out? The units? Yes. And to answer Wolfy62, no, it wasn't planned. In fact, the marketing plan has to be revised now. Could they be moving up the street date? Bill Loguidice
Could they be moving up the street date? I'd consider that unlikely at this point, but if it changes, I'll let everyone know. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3061072 Share on other sites
+nurmix
As I mentioned a while ago in this thread, when I borrowed a prototype Flashback controller from Intellivision Productions and disassembled it to figure out the differences between it and the original, I discovered that they both use the same Mylar circuit matrix design, although the way the matrix connects to the wires is completely different. Here is a picture showing the Flashback matrix on the left, the original on the right. 4 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3061097 Share on other sites

moonlight_mile
I think it might have been nurmix that build the adapter. And it sound like it was just changing the pin locations. But I could be wrong. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3061177 Share on other sites
+nurmix
I think it might have been nurmix that build the adapter. And it sound like it was just changing the pin locations. But I could be wrong. Yes, it was me. Search this thread and you will see several posts about it. I have made an adapter. They work fine with it. It basically comes down to mis-wired pins. Here is a picture of my prototype adapter. Note, to use the Flashback controller on an Intellivision II with my adapter, I have to use a joystick extension since the plugs are recessed on the Inty II, and the D-sub connectors I am using have the screw hole "ears" that get in the way of plugging it into the Inty II. 5 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3061180 Share on other sites

+nurmix
Do you know if they do another one next year. Will they make them compatible will out the adapter ? As Bill said, it's also my understanding that they will make them compatible. Whether that's a running change to this version of the Flashback - which would mean some sort of software change to the emulator to work with the "correct" controllers - or in a v2, I don't yet know. Nor does Keith Robinson / Intellivision Productions. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/217407-breaking-news-intellivision-flashback-coming-to-retail/page/38/#findComment-3061189 Share on other sites
+save2600
That's their intention if there is a next one. Like the 2600 FB controllers, these should have been plug-in compatible in the first place. Why are they not? Miscommunication between AT Games and the Chinese factory? Of the 9 wires in the Flashback controllers, only 1 was the same as the original controller.
