I do not know about real hardware but getting your final score on this game is going to be difficult unless you record it with either a screen capture program or make an inp file in MESS.

 

Once you lose your last life..the score reverts back to zero.

I guess pause it on your last life.

If you're emulating guys, there's a short window of time, after you take the last hit but before the plane is destroyed, when you can take a screenshot. Like I did here:

Ok here's the way around that, on the option screen select 4 lives and then take a screenshot with 1 life remaining if you're not quick enough to get the shot
