Well my hope is to find another vic and since I only had certain funds available, I decided to grab what looked to be harder to find. Everything else was 1st party common stuff like Gorf and Clowns, etc which would be easier to find down the road.

Was this at a garage sale or thrift store? VIC stuff is very rare to find in the wild down here. You are very lucky imo.

When you do get a VIC, watch out for a broken RF box/wire. Most people assume the whole machine is broken when it's really just the RF box. That's been a pretty common issue in my experience. Anyways, replace it with a composite cable, and you'll be good to go.

Value Village surprisingly. Apparently a whole box of 8-bit computer stuff was dropped off - Atari XL, Tandy Coco, TI/99, C64, and Vic-20. Didn't see any hardware but I was told some of that was already sold. I remember seeing 3 boxed common Tandy coco games but already had those and at the time they were $13 each which was overpriced IMO. Must have been an Atari computer as I remember seeing the power bricks at one point (and bought one but it turned out to be one of the bad ones so I'm not going to use it)

If I ever get out to that Chatham VV again I'll grab some more but I figure they'll be gone soon. Too many collectors/resellers around here.

I believe the Digital Press Online Rarity Guide is reasonably in line with the real world. It is maintained by Mayhem IIRC. It gives the following results:

Threshold: rarity 5, loose value $10

Lunar Leeper: rarity 6, value $12

Aggressor: rarity 5, value $8

A.E.: rarity 7, value $15

Amok: rarity 6, value $15

Spiders of Mars: rarity 6, value $12

Outworld: rarity 7, value $15

Super Expander: rarity 1, value $1

It doesn't have any entry for the Vixen memory expander, but given how well known it is, I think it has more of an usage value than collector's value.

Actually some of Commodore's own cartridges are in line with the above mentioned, e.g. Commodore Artist.

AE is a cool game. Those are all pretty rare. But the VIC-20 is one of those systems where rare doesn't necessarily equate to valuable.

Yeah, "valuable" is a relative term in this case. Loose VIC-20 cartridges don't usually sell for very much, but they're almost certainly worth more than whatever he paid for them.

That is a really awesome haul. I would say that the Digital Press estimates are low, but the demand for VIC-20 games isn't nearly as strong as it is for other game cartridges.

I wouldn't say they're low. I agree with the prices quoted above for the most part, although the UMI titles are probably a bit overpriced actually. NIB copies of many of those have been found in Venezuela.

Yeah, I haven't tweaked a few of them down yet, and for that reason, some of them have been a bit more common coming out of South America, like many other titles.
