The power knob is merely press-fitted into place on the the power switch volume control shaft. To reinstall simple push the know back into place on the other Vectrex power switch volume control shaft. What was causing trouble in my case was that a thin piece of plastic shaped like the D letter inside the knob remained on the shaft...
