I'll be there. I have a booth in the lower section across from the silent auction showing off my collection and several 7800 homebrews. Missing In Action is there, so is Santa Simon and several homebrews from Ken and Bob. I have my temperamental DevOS 7800 set up out there and both heavy sixers. Also, for those who followed the thread with the 16 Starpath prototypes back in 08 or 09, two of those prototypes will be at Super! Bitcon and I have the .bin files available to run on real hardware. The Labyrinth prototype has most of the third maze complete.

Most of the OKRGS folks collect Nintendo and later stuff, making my collection one of the oldest on display.

It's gonna be a blast, so come see us! It's at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. To get there, take I-44 to NW 10th street, then go east to May Avenue. Turn right on May and go south until you see the main gate on your right. From there, turn right at the security booth and go back to the north until you see the circle of flags and the arch. We're in the Hobbies, Arts, and Crafts building near one end of the arch.

Nothing better than getting there 3 hours before it closes and most of the vendors have already left.

I think that's because a lot of the sellers had to pack up to drive home and/or they weren't going to really get sales during the evening's comedy shows and festivities. I would have liked to stay for some of that myself but I had a dinner date so I bounced right as vendors started to pack it in.

And to Shadow460: Good to meet you! Glad you found me and brought me over to see the Labyrinth proto before Mrs. MMF texted me to meet her outside. :D

It was a complete blast. My hat is off to Brandon Cole Phillips and David Sollars for making it all happen, and also off to Bob DeCrecsenzo and Ken Siders for the homebrew games that so many kids of all ages enjoyed.

I think I might have had as much fun introducing the 7800 to people as they had playing it.

Had a great time there with the wife and kids. Due to a funeral this weekend I didn't make it out until around 4pm, so by the time we got there many of the vendors were already packing it up. I missed DeputyMoniker and MMF but did get to see Brett Weiss, Jeff Cooper, Delf Meek, Drew Stone, and a few other familiar faces. Also got to meet Shadow460 and play that Labyrinth prototype. Based on the number of people I saw there and the ticket sales I heard people repeating I can only assume the show will be happening again next year.

Holy crap, that was you there, Shadow? Awesome! Man, what a great show. I was the guy that was showing you the Atari porn games I bought...ahem, I mean, the manly sports team game I fought a lion in a boxing ring to acquire. Yeah, that's the ticket. Anyway, man am I jealous of your collection. That Tax Avoiders was just mesmerizing...

Flack, sorry I couldn't spend more time talking. I was really busy helping Nintendo-Okie set up their game show section, plus I was one of their score keepers, so I had to bolt. The game show, btw, was a HUGE success, and they had a bigger audience than ANY of the panels during the day.

MMF, always a pleasure to see you about. Sorry I missed saying bye, but again, I was really busy the last part of the day.

Had a great time! Got pics of me with Smooth McGroove (!), Pro Jared, the Game Chasers, and AlphaOmegaSin, and got to see a lot of familiar faces from OVGE as well. Hope to do it again next year!

Yep, that was me. Tax Avoiders was from a lucky deal last year. Congrats on the aforementioned titles--they looked mint and I know they're hard to get.
Most of what I had on display was from two or three large 7800 lots. The loose carts more or less trickled in. I know there are guys out there with larger collections and/or more boxes, but I am fortunate to have what's on my shelf. I think I paid $30 or $40 for the lot Tax Avoiders was in. By comparison, I paid almost $100 for that loose Tank Command.

Next time out I'm tossing around a few ideas including some arcade style competitions and maybe selling system mod boards. I specifically have the RGB amp board and cartridge for the LaserActive 32X mod in mind. Last time I was in a convention we had that thing set up and running all day but it didn't have the 32X mod yet.

It was good to meet ya'll.

That's OK. The sign at the fairgrounds said:

SUPER!

BITCON GAMING

EXPO

I'm sure that many of the people passing by thought that whoever was putting on the "Bitcon Gaming Expo" thought it would be just super. Also at first they'd misspelled it to read "Super Bitcom Gaming Expo." One of the RGS members caught it in a photo. It was corrected soon after.

I'd say it's definitely worth a visit even from out of town.

Here are the photos I took from both Friday (setup day) and Saturday, my pickups, and the meetup a few days prior to. The gentleman with the news camera is Galen Culver of KFOR, our NBC affiliate. Here's a link to the prime time spot that was filmed earlier in the week:

It was a fun time for sure. I have to get out and be part of more of these things.

I've got a photo collage up from the show now that includes shadow460's set up and my pictures with Thor (Nintendo World Championship 1990) and Smooth McGroove! PS: Yes I don't know how but I missed Flack and both Mr. and Mrs. Staggs! Embarassing. Just means I have to come back for Tulsa in a few months. :D Just added - part one of the SBC panel with Brett Weiss, Jeff Cooper and Patrick Scott Patterson!

This thing hits continue March 28 and 29, 2015. Same time and place on Saturday, plus all day Sunday the 29th also! There were some faces from AtariAge last year. They're looking to set up the museum and the pinball sections again this year. I will have my modded LaserActive on display as well as my ColecoVision and a select lineup of 2600 games to show off the Expansion Module 1. Of course there will be plenty of vendors.
Come on out and see us! A block of rooms remain available at AmericInn nearby for those coming in from out of town, so there's no excuse to miss the second day.
