mhodgeshvs
I made some carts of Oil's Well today. If you'd like one, they are $25 plus shipping. I also have reproductions of other 5200 games: 5200 Reproductions For Sale Please drop me a PM if interested. Thanks! ..Al Al, I need a copy of Oil's Well please, can I still buy one? Thanks, Mitch
AtariBrian
I am surprised that people weren't lined up to buy this game from Al . In my opinion one of the very best and most addicting games on any console . Wonder if he could make a copy of Bristles .
7800
Cool! I didn't know about these. I'm guessing they are long gone?

CPUWIZ
Cool! I didn't know about these. I'm guessing they are long gone? These sort of things are only gone, when you run out of parts to make them. Or out of patience, I don't feel like making Sirius & Plutos carts for a while. LOL
Albert
These sort of things are only gone, when you run out of parts to make them. I do still have several carts from the original batch I made, so it would be nice to sell them. ..AL
thegamezmaster
Do they support digital 5200 controllers? Is the sale for a cart only? Edited June 14, 2015 by thegamezmaster
Albert
Do they support digital 5200 controllers? Is the sale for a cart only? I have not tried it with a digital controller, but I imagine it would work fine. If you buy a copy and it doesn't work well, I'd be glad to take the game back. ..Al

AtariBrian
Just hooked up my 5200 with a competition pro and a working controller . Works great !

If you buy a copy and it doesn't work well, I'd be glad to take the game back. ..Al Price and how many are in stock? Looks like an interesting game; I have no experience with the original A8 version. Speaking of various controllers and 5200 games, has anyone tested 5200 Tempest with a Rotary Controller mod or is the Trak-Ball considered the end-all for that version? It's more important that I can at least play the game rather than have a hard copy of it.

Lynxpro
What he said. Probably just one. I'll put the word out over on Facebook for those who might not also be members over here for whatever crazy reason. I may have to conserve some finances at the moment now that Howard Scott Warshaw has been confirmed to be in town next Friday for a Q&A just in case some Atari: Game Over movie posters become available on short notice. As for 5200 Tempest, does it work with a modded rotary controller?
Dutchman2000
5200 Tempest works with the joystick and the track-ball, we never tested it with a modified rotary controller. The track-ball is considered to be the best controller to use with it.

7800
So what's the deal with these Oil's Well carts? Do I need to be part of a secret society to get one? Why the cryptic responses to people who express interest in one? Why are they not in the AtariAge store?

Why the cryptic responses to people who express interest in one? Why are they not in the AtariAge store? Am I being cryptic? Anyone who wants one in the US can PayPal me $28 and I'll ship a cart out to them in a box via First Class Mail. If you're outside the US, let me know and I'll figure out the postage. I haven't put 5200 reproduction carts in the AtariAge Store, not sure that I will, as I'd prefer to focus on homebrew games and reproductions that get the full treatment (box, manual, etc.) However, I'm glad to make high-quality reproduction carts for unreleased prototypes for those who want them. ..Al

Albert
I should ask since this is an A8 conversion if the keypad is used for anything. That's a good question -- does the Atari 8-bit version use the keyboard for anything? I did play the game for a bit on the 5200, but it's been so long since I played the Atari 8-bit version I don't remember now. I didn't actually try pressing any of the keypad buttons on the 5200 keypad. ..Al
