Hi guys,

@Neo_Geo_Forever  More to contribute Riko. In the early 1990's, SNK USA issued the "Neo-Geo Presents" series of flyers to arcade trade show magazines and venders for potential investments.

I was thinking of that Allan. I was also thinking of donating some of the Neo-Geo goodies to the National Video Game Museum to be preserved for decades to come. :)

Hi Guys,

Back with AtariAge member NeonPeon. Here we see Mark in action doing an excellent 2 hour + video of awesome Neo-Geo gaming action to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the Neo-Geo thread. Thank you so much Mark. This means plenty to us for sure. Enjoy folks. :)

From the description,

"Tonight's Monday MAME will feature all Neo Geo games! My recent online acquaintance, Anthony aka fdurso224, the super nice founder of the popular and insanely prolific "Official Neo Geo Thread' on AtariAge (1000+ pages!) requested a little something in celebration of said thread's 7th anniversary. So here it is! We've played some Neo Geo before on this stream, but this time let's go all out. :D and play nothing but Neo Geo games for about 2 hours, and possibly show off some of my 30-year-old Neo Geo equipment. Requests are welcome, but my disclaimer is I suck at most one-on-one fighters - happy to play some anyway, just be aware of my lack of skills. :) I might attempt a full playthrough of Nam 1975. Enjoy!"

Hey Steven I have a few Pixel Heart AES games : Ganryu, Neo Drift Out, and Bang Bang Bros.  I have no idea about voltages but all work perfectly on my AES. The quality of the printing on the insert is sharper than the original games but has a slightly flatter (as in less shiny/vibrant) finish than the official games. The snap lock box is custom made and feels slightly less high quality than SNK's version but still pretty good. I would buy more of their games - if I didn't have to pay import charges now that the UK has left the EU. Hope that helps.

How is the cart's PCB? Is it shaped properly? That is something that is of major concern to me and likely others as well. I don't suppose you'd be interested in opening one and stabbing it with a multimeter to check the voltages... don't open anything if you don't know how, as you can break the cart if you do it incorrectly.

Yeah, there is all sorts of crazy stuff in that cabinet. Everything is AES with no MVS games at all, so that helps, but Mandarake is famous for usually overpricing their stuff by a decent margin. The last time I was there a few weeks ago, they had Metal Slug 2, 3, 4, 5, X, Mark of the Wolves, Real Bout 2, Twinkle Star Sprites, and a few more of the really big non-Metal Slug 1/Big Tournament Golf titles. I think there was a Blazing Star in there, but I don't remember. Checking the video again, they do have Pulstar, so maybe I am confusing Pulstar and Blazing Star, as the box art for both games is vaguely similar. I don't remember seeing Andro Dunos. They also had multiple copies of some of the Metal Slugs, just like in the video, and I think there were 2 copies of Mark of the Wolves in there as well. There are a lot of expensive games in there.

I've actually been thinking of going to Akiba tomorrow to look for prices for Thunder Force VI, so I might stop by Mandarake to see what they have right now. Not yet sure if I will go, though.

Sounds good to know bro. Personally Steve, after going into well inform details of game hunting in the Tokyo area, I still believe you can do great videos on YouTube for us to be aware of all the hotspots, and well priced games are for us to view. Personally, I believe you would do just as well as the other YouTubers and even better Steve. I certainly would view, subscribe and see your channel all the time when new content would be available. :)

I can certainly speak on behalf of all of us here on the Neo-Geo thread. We would rather spend our money on your upcoming Neo-Geo homebrew instead Steril. A new game from the ground up is certainly better off for sure. :)

Anthony..

So, some little update here:
The engine is running fine so far, but have to fight with some little glitches that i have to iron out. I am sure that I can release the game in late autumn, though.

These are screenshots from the just released Amiga version, for the Neo Geo version I will rework almost all the graphics off course to look even a whole lot better:

if you want to see the game in action, here is a playthrough..

I think the game looks quite nice already for an Amiga 500 game, but for the NeoGeo version I intend to improve a few months on the pixel art and add two more levels to make this a worthy release for the amazing hardware that is the NeoGeo. Those shit loads of colours needs to make it into this game, mates.. :D

New source for Neo Geo feet: https://retrofrog.net/products/neo-geo-aes-controller-rubber-feet-4-feet

My Neo Geo slides around quite easily since I pulled the feet off to cut the motherboard, so I need to get some new feet for it. The feet on my AES controllers are also not very effective, so I want to get some feet for those as well.

I somehow doubt that I'd do very well... besides, I spend so much money on games that I can't afford a decent camera!

Yes sorry I have no experience in doing that, and don't want to risk damaging the label or carts. Did you hear back from Pixel Heart yet?

Ah no worries Steve. Remember, the greatest minds that accomplished so much had doubts at first and thought the same way. Soon after, they became iconic. :)
