Rick Weis
Portland Retro Gaming Expo Changes 2014 Dates Dear Retro Gaming Fans, Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. The Portland Retro Gaming Expo has been asked by the city to move our event out one week in order to accommodate a large sporting event that will require the majority of the Oregon Convention Center (OCC). It was not an easy decision for us, but the event has enormous potential upside for the city of Portland and its local businesses. The PRGE board decided that it made sense to accept the proposal from the OCC to move out the date of the Expo by one week from October 11-12, 2014 to October 18-19, 2014. This will open up the previous weekend for an event that is projected to bring over $1.4 million in revenue into the city. New Date - Same EventSo mark your calendars - the new date of the 2014 Portland Retro Gaming Expo is October 18-19, 2014. Otherwise it will be the same great show as always. We're SorryWe realize that this change might be an inconvenience for some. We sincerely apologize for any difficulty or confusion the change causes for our attendees. It was not an easy decision, but we are confident that this is the right decision for the continued success of the Expo. Did you already book a hotel? Our hotel partners (The Jupiter, Residence Inn and Doubletree) are working with us to move out room blocks out to the new dates. We have asked them to proactively reach out to anyone who booked a room already, but we encourage you to contact your hotel right away to confirm your reservation for the new dates. There will be no difference in price. Exhibitor InformationIf you have already paid for a space at PRGE 2014 and you are OK with the new dates then there is nothing you have to do. Our vendor coordinator will be reaching out to paid exhibitors over the next couple of weeks to confirm the date change and help with the transition in any way we can. You can ask questions and discuss your specific situation with the vendor coordinator anytime by emailing vendors@retrogamingexpo.com. Tickets on sale SOON!We have held off on posting PRGE passes for sale until the negotiations with OCC were complete. Now that we have come to an agreement, ticket sales will start up within the next few days. Thank YouThank you very much for supporting PRGE. It's very gratifying to know how many classic video game fans want to come to our little show that started in the back room of the Vancouver Quality Inn nine years ago. Sincerely, The Board and Staff of the Portland Retro Gaming Expo
