Fritz442
That's freaking SLICK dude! Best case I've seen yet for a Nano... ... and the best use for an 8 Track tape EVER! Is it still easy to open up to get to the CF card? Oh yeah, in the 2nd image there's 2 slots on the back, it just pops open. And I have really never used the rs232 port. +Lee Stewart
Hi Lee I have (and use) a nanoPEB. My question was more a query regarding the possibility of adding 32K onto the cartridge board to negate the need for a PEB or nanoPEB and thereby opening up these cartridge images to those with a console only. Imagine how many more cartridges would be sold if all of the programs could be used on a standalone Ti-99 micro? ... Well, as long as the cartridge does not need mass storage, there's always this project: 32KB RAM in the Console on a 16-bit bus (switchable to 8 bits) ...lee Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224528-setting-up-a-512k-cart/page/15/#findComment-3099992 Share on other sites
Gazoo
Here's the Games #5 Binary image. There's only one file because Classic99 doesn't need an inverted file anymore. Use it in Classic99 or burn it to a 512k eprom. I had to hack Virus Attack because it looked for code in the EA Grom and it would reset because the Grom wasn't found. Can someone familiar with the game check that it works ok? Thanks, Gazoo Edited October 27, 2014 by Gazoo 2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224528-setting-up-a-512k-cart/page/15/#findComment-3100021 Share on other sites

Gazoo
Fritz sent me a better version of Tunnels Of Doom so I replaced it on the cart. Delete the other one and use this one instead. Thanks Fritz! Gazoo [deleted attachment=363361:Games5.bin] edit: attachment removed, Fritz uploaded a newer version with Bigfoot fixed. Thanks Fritz! Gazoo NP, TY for all your work here. Burned to EProm and works great in real TI hardware All MBX game screens ok. Virus attack seems to work fine(but with limited testing-I could only drop a few pills.. ) I tried it in Classic99, I can get to the '2 for Games' menu on 2 it goes back to the title screen. I'll try more testing when I get home WOOHOO Adventure and TOD work great!!! 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224528-setting-up-a-512k-cart/page/15/#findComment-3100225 Share on other sites
dphirschler
Any side effects of using that 5V powerline to the nanoPEB? Does the switch still work? I am going to do the mod. UKRetrogamer
I tried it in Classic99, I can get to the '2 for Games' menu on 2 it goes back to the title screen. Use Ramus' bank-inverter Java applet to re-order the banks then append a 3 to the end of the file-name. "games5_3.bin" as opposed to "games5.bin". I did this and it works in Classic99. Omega-TI
Here's what I did, but I think the Stones had a lot to do with it.... The photo does not show the connection point on the edge card connector for the +5v. Is it the "bottom left post" or the bottom right post"? I was thinking of doing this as I have nothing to lose since this unit is so flaky. NO look very closely at the connector, I believe the arrow is pointing at the 2nd pin. The first one is either cut REAL short or the pin is missing. I have 2 cf7's and 1 nano, 1 cf7 and 1 nano have the pin cut off short the other CF7 has this 1st pin removed from the connector. The pic is a little blurry but the one on the left has the pin cut off short, and the other one has the 4 outside corner pins removed. Darryl None that I have found in almost 3 years. Yes the switch does the same as the wire runs to the barrel connector. It looks like a neat solution but I wonder why this wasn't designed in from the outset. From what I read it did originally use the console power, but then you could not use the Speech Synth, so it removed and ext. power was used. And yes, I also jumpered my Speech Synth module too so both can be used together. I'd love to ditch my CF7+ power supply if possible. It's a non-inverted file. Example below: [userCart12] ; *** 512k cart - works *** name="Games 5" rom0=8|0000|80000|G:\512k Game Cartridge 5\Games5.bin Gazoo Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224528-setting-up-a-512k-cart/page/15/#findComment-3100522 Share on other sites

UKRetrogamer
I am unfamiliar with this program nor can I find it , can you upload the inverted file....Plz Gazoo answered your query regarding making the ROM work in classic99 so this response is a little late. Personally, I still prefer to modify my copy the ROMs (as indicated above) so I can drag them in and out of folders as needed without resorting to a text-editor but that's just my preference. In case you need it for future use, here's a link to Rasmus' post, including a download link to his useful Bank Inverter utility. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/193163-512k-cartridge-status/?p=3025762 Edited October 28, 2014 by UKRetrogamer Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224528-setting-up-a-512k-cart/page/15/#findComment-3100731 Share on other sites

Fritz442
Hey all, I found a minor startup screen error in the game 'Bigfoot'(the name is missing from the title screen), I replaced the 3 files in this new ROM file. Shift838
With all these cartridge files being made available, should we find a place on the FTP site to store them and info about what is in each file. only keep the corrected versions being stored? I would also think a user could use a ZIF socket instead to make changing eprom easier.
